[00:28:32] <kolie> I'm preparing a VM hosts.
[00:28:58] <kolie> I'll get more time to migrate stuff next week, I'd like to move staging I guess to a VM.
[00:42:04] <drussell> Hey...
[00:42:09] <kolie> what up
[00:42:10] <drussell> The logs aren't logging properly
[00:42:14] <kolie> loggie?
[00:42:51] <kolie> looks accurate to me, whats going on with it?
[00:43:04] <drussell> I tend to follow along with the IRC discussion by reading the logs on logs.sylnt.us
[00:43:13] <drussell> None of this is in there
[00:43:28] <kolie> https://logs.sylnt.us
[00:43:31] <kolie> I see it fine.
[00:46:21] <drussell> The root page on #soylent does not refresh with a 19th listing I still only see 18th... and the 18th was all overwitten, the font is default, etc... all the early-in-the-day stuff was lost...
[00:46:36] <kolie> yea the 18th is fucked up.
[00:46:53] <drussell> ooh, if I manually pit in a 9 instead it shows..
[00:46:54] <kolie> https://logs.sylnt.us shows a 19th listing
[00:47:26] <kolie> There were three loggies running, it fucked up 18, nothing happened, there was issues and lots of channels pam.
[00:48:14] <drussell> Ok, 19 is working now... Not sude why it wouldn
[00:48:26] <drussell> wouldn't refresh that list before...
[00:48:42] <drussell> No worries... Thanks, man... haha
[00:48:56] <drussell> Especially for installing renewed certs! :)
[00:48:59] <kolie> Yea I'll do what I can for the thigns I'm made aware of.
[00:49:16] <kolie> I got a refresher in all things soylent this week.
[00:49:20] <kolie> Good prep for moving stuff.
[00:49:34] <drussell> Indeed...
[00:49:53] <kolie> So start on all that next week proper.
[00:50:07] <kolie> I just got a VM setup and fresh installed.
[00:50:26] <drussell> My installed codebase here is very old and I never even really played with it... You folks must have an impressively glowy admin hat... :)
[00:50:45] <drussell> It's still all a mystery to me... haha
[00:50:49] <kolie> what part?
[00:50:58] <kolie> the linode setup is weird af.
[00:51:10] <kolie> I figured it out, but I would never setup a system like it was.
[00:51:16] <drussell> Oh, I'm sure...
[00:51:36] <drussell> I've never ever run anything on anything except my own hardware, or that on a customer site
[00:52:06] <kolie> yea. I run it for a fairly large org, with multiple subsidiaries and we do a lot of m/a ( we do the eating of the smaller people )
[00:52:16] <kolie> So I get to work on a lot of different, enterprise grade systems, daily.
[00:52:46] <kolie> I'm out for the weekend.
[00:53:32] <kolie> People have my cell number if needed, I'm out till monday otherwise and I'll be checking my ennwise email periodically. AFAIK people can access IRC and IPv6 is an issue, but IPv4 should work as should the bounce/znc.
[00:53:54] <drussell> OK, see you later... Thanks for the certs for sure!
[00:53:58] <kolie> IPv6 is fine on staging, so if relaly needed for IRC, thats where it is.
[00:54:04] <kolie> Yea np. Certs ezpz.
[00:54:11] <kolie> I'm just glad I got told about it three weeks before :)
[00:54:23] <kolie> If its day of or day after, no guarentees.
[00:54:28] <drussell> It's not showing all the disconnects now, maybe it's fixed?
[00:54:52] <kolie> anyways, ttyl.
[00:55:00] <drussell> TTYL!

[17:41:14] <drussell> Actually, I think Kolie just disabled IPv6 for now to stop the bouncing until the network connection gets fixed.
[17:44:27] <janrinok> OK, it makes sense but means we haven't resolved the problem. Those of us using ZNC are still missing some functionality.
[17:55:12] <drussell> Well, presumably it is a Linode issue... I haven't heard anything about the status of the trouble ticket.
[17:55:35] <janrinok> I don't think we will hear over the weekend.
[17:56:41] <drussell> Perhaps the ZNC instance could just be changed to use the IPv4 address for now?
[17:57:33] <janrinok> I don't know, if I try to access IRC through the usual port it goes back to falling over every few minutes.
[17:57:59] <janrinok> I'm not sure who is available to reconfigure ZNC.
[17:58:27] <janrinok> We perhaps have fewer staff now than people realise :)
[17:58:50] <drussell> I'm amazed there are >0 people with any access at all! :)
[18:00:08] <janrinok> My initial aim is simply to stabilise the site by switching to 2 docker installations, which is what we are setting up at the moment. But, as ever, there are things happening beyond our control which seem to stop us making the progress that we expected.
[18:01:36] <drussell> Indeed.
[18:01:47] <drussell> At least the certificates are now good until January. :)
[18:06:34] <janrinok> We were hoping to get the new servers up and running before the cert expired - or at least that is what we were trying to do. But this DNS problem has taken a week out of that so I am pleased the certs have been extended.
