[15:05:47] <janrinok> carny. I have a few questions if you have some time
[15:05:57] <janrinok> Let's assume that the worst case is true. This is a bio-weapon that has been accidentally released and that the governments know this and are not telling us:
[15:06:06] <janrinok> 1. What does knowing this information at this time do to help us?
[15:06:16] <janrinok> 2. How should we change the measures that are being taken to combat the problem that we face?
[15:06:27] <janrinok> 3. What change will this information do to the measures that we are currently taking?
[15:06:40] <janrinok> I'm not arguing with you, but it seems to me that the only thing that this information would change would be the level of concern felt by a large number of people. It would be divisive (how do you think Americans of Chinese extraction will be treated?), and it would do nothing to enhance the logistical problems of manufacture and distribution of protective equipment.
[15:06:53] <janrinok> I think this would be a great thread of comments to follow a CV-19 story although it is not the justification for the story itself. The stories must be based on facts as we know them and not speculation.
[15:07:07] <janrinok> I would like to see the effort concentrated on solving the current problem, and then drill down into exactly what is the original cause of the problem and what can be done to prevent it happening again. I suspect that we are looking at the same problem (and in general agreement) but from the opposite end.
[15:07:34] <carny> i'm not going to answer any of those questions for 2 reasons
[15:07:52] <carny> first you won't accept any of the answers because they contradict your leftist worldview
[15:08:29] <carny> and second the statements would probably be illegal in my country and i'm not going to give anyone an excuse to try to dox me
[15:08:53] <janrinok> OK
[15:09:32] <janrinok> ... but I have no reason to want to dox you. I wouldn't do it.
[15:09:39] <carny> but i think you're probably smart enough to see that the current globalist liberal system is fucked and is on the verge of collapse
[15:10:04] <carny> sorry but that's not how the intelligence biz works ;]
[15:10:05] <janrinok> no, I don't see that but that is a completely separate debate and not one for this site
[15:10:19] <janrinok> You do know my past don't you?
[15:10:22] <carny> you don't get read in on a secret just because you promise not to tell ;]
[15:10:32] <carny> no
[15:11:04] <carny> honestly i don't know very much at all about you except that you seem to fight very hard against people speaking truths that you don't like
[15:12:15] <janrinok> I believe in arguing my corner - I don't accept other views unless there is a good reason to do so and I am convinced by their argument. See the PM
[15:12:57] <carny> the only reason you need is that my predictions have been right and yours have been wrong
[15:13:31] <janrinok> what I have I predicted?
[15:14:26] <carny> you have denied almost everything i have said about this virus
[15:14:49] <carny> i guess that's technically not predictions
[15:14:59] <janrinok> No, you have not convinced me that your analysis is correct.
[15:17:13] <Bytram> cmn32480: 6 or 12 months... for what? /me lost the context; also, exec seems to have taken a vacation
[15:18:26] <carny> janrinok: then both of us should stop bothering to argue with each other
[15:18:38] <Bytram> carny: Did you not see my comments?
[15:18:47] <carny> because my record is good enough that i'm confident in my analysis going forward and you will never benefit from it no matter how many things i get right
[15:19:13] <carny> Bytram: yes but they ignore the fundamental point that we are not solving math problems here
[15:19:35] <carny> we are analyzing human behavior with all of the lies and agendas that entails
[15:20:18] <cmn32480> bytram - the beg-o-meter adjustment taht was 1 line above.

[15:29:21] <cmn32480> pfftt... you expect me to read stuff!
[15:30:59] <Bytram> One of these days I intend to write some code to automagically populate that. Is not difficult to do it manually, but it does take up a chunk of time that I could be using for something else on the site.
[15:37:04] <Bytram> carny: Substantiate your claims so that an independent observer can, based on the information provided, either confirm or refute the conclusion. Being more adamant about a position (say it enough times and people will believe it, say it LOUDER and drown out all alternative views) is not effective.
[15:40:50] <Bytram> What I have seen you post here would be greeted on Wikipedia with [citation needed]. So, document your sources, and then present your reasoning. Your statements, no matter how much you believe in them, carry no more weight as they have been presented here than any other statement by joe-random-internt-user who has an agenda to push.

[22:29:03] <Bytram> So, I've managed to carve out a rare chunk of spare time. I just watched "The Hunger Games" a couple days ago. What should I watch next? "The Hunger Games -- Catching Fire", "Lucy", or the "Ghost in the Shell" remake (Both of the latter with Scarlett Johansson)
[22:29:35] * Bytram is leaning to "THG, CF", while the first movie is fresh in my mind.
[22:29:52] <chromas> Have you seen the original Ghost in the Shell?
[22:29:55] <chromas> I haven't seen the remake
[22:30:26] <Bytram> No, nor am I familiar with the magna or anime on which it is based, except to know that it exists
[22:31:49] <Bytram> From what I read when the remake was released, there was some fierce criticism about it straying from its foundations, and (having a non-oriental in the leading role), but the action sequences I saw in the couple trailers I saw were amazing.
