[02:08:34] <exec> Researchers have made a breakthrough in helping scientists discover hundreds of black holes throughout the universe. When two detectors are switched on in the US next year, scientists hope to pick up the faint ripples of black hole collisions millions of years ago, known as gravitational waves. Black holes cannot be seen, but scientists hope the revamped detectors -- which act like giant microphones -- will find remnants of black hole collisions.
[02:10:19] <chromas> ooh
[02:10:36] <crutchy> just takes the description meta content
[02:12:13] <chromas> it is kind of hard to just extract the text body since there's all kinds of sidebars and shit that all have text
[02:12:54] <crutchy> yeah got messy
[02:13:23] <crutchy> description meta is what google uses so makes sense that it would contain the pertinent summary bits
[02:13:25] <chromas> Maybe one thing to do would be to explode the text by <div>s, strip out <b> and such and see which one has the most text
[02:13:54] <chromas> meta_data++
[02:14:31] <chromas> hehe
[02:14:39] <chromas> exec could have its own karma system
[02:14:43] <chromas> ++exec
[02:15:00] <chromas> one that ignores --coffee
[02:15:08] <crutchy> an earlier version had karma+
[02:15:26] <crutchy> when it was bacon or mother or something
[02:15:49] <crutchy> could dig up that old script from somewhere
[02:16:18] <chromas> did it store karma in buckets?
[02:18:21] <crutchy> http://paste.ofcode.org
[02:18:22] <netctl> ^ 03Paste ofCode
[02:18:30] <crutchy> it was pre-buckets
[02:19:06] <chromas> finally starting to see that logo as a tube of glue instead of a lighthouse
[02:19:24] <crutchy> lol
[02:19:43] <chromas> need a grab, too, one that can go back to previous lines
[02:19:51] <chromas> and auto-triggers on nograb
[02:21:23] <crutchy> check out line 181
[02:21:29] <crutchy> first sign of exec maybe
[02:21:56] <chromas> lots of glowballs :D
[02:22:09] <chromas> and the 'password' at the top
[02:22:17] <crutchy> still lots of glowballs
[02:25:18] <chromas> put it all into buckets :D
[02:25:36] <chromas> that way when the buckets get corrupted you have to put all the info in again

[02:50:59] <crutchy> seems to work. i might get rid of the 300 char limit on story
[02:51:01] <chromas> :|
[02:51:12] <chromas> bot's missing the formatting stuff now
[02:51:18] <crutchy> and trim everything right of --
[02:51:22] <crutchy> in the title
[02:51:31] <crutchy> netctl++
[02:53:29] <chromas> should set the name to have bot in it like exec
[02:53:34] <chromas> =dump .config
[02:53:34] <netctl> k
[02:54:16] <chromas> =set .config/me.realname monopoly 3.bot
[02:54:16] <netctl> k
[02:54:27] <chromas> (won't take affect until next connect though)

[02:57:58] <chromas> need to figure out a way to make it put the link in the text :)
[02:58:11] <chromas> some function to decide which words to tag
[02:58:41] <chromas> maybe a list of verbs or something
[03:00:05] <crutchy> err. the link should be in the text
[03:00:16] <crutchy> doesn't it appear for you?
[03:02:05] <chromas> it's at the bottom
[03:02:18] <chromas> oh, ef had the same idea
[03:02:44] <chromas> Like "Researchers have <link>made a breakthrough</link> in
[03:02:46] <chromas> "
[03:02:50] <crutchy> ahh
[11:22:03] crutchy is now known as _
