[19:32:27] <FatPhil> Why is it not possible to pay for subscriptions using a direct bank transfer. That's the only way we do things here (if you don't want to sign up to unregulated third party services, which I don't)
[19:33:36] * TheMightyBuzzard shurgs
[19:33:59] <TheMightyBuzzard> isn't something that's done in the US unless you have several accounts of your own and want to transfer between them.
[19:34:33] <TheMightyBuzzard> and if we stored any info on it, it'd be a metric fuckload more work for me.
[19:36:03] <chromas> You can use a debit card. Are those unregulated?
[19:36:48] <TheMightyBuzzard> very regulated
[19:37:43] <chromas> Amazon takes bank transfers. I think they have an api we can use, too.
[19:38:07] <chromas> to use as a payment processor. We all like Bezos, right? :D
[19:38:33] <TheMightyBuzzard> the only amazon i like is wonder woman
[19:38:55] <chromas> Maybe Jeff will transition
[19:39:16] <chromas> Jeffina Bézòs
[19:57:39] <FatPhil> when I bought some books and CDs from various vendors on Amazon, amazon was only able to take my payment for half of the order (UK vendors) and not the other half (US vendors), so nothing about Amazon makes sense.
[19:58:16] <FatPhil> I contacted the US vendors, and they said "it's nothing to do with us, you're actually paying amazon, and they pay us our share".
[19:58:25] <FatPhil> So I can pay amazon, but I can't pay amazon.
[20:00:02] <FatPhil> I completely failed to fund something on kickstarter last week, US payment systems hate me.
[20:00:36] <FatPhil> I do have a mastercard debit card that I could use.
