For Unicode characters that convert to 1-octet or 2-octet UTF-8 strings are stored as-is (except for &amp;amp;, &amp;lt; &amp;gt; and &amp;nbsp; which are saved as named character entities). For those UTF-8 characters which require 3 or more octets, they are saved as hexad
