[07:24:18] <Ingar> Boom Boom Boom Boom
[07:48:28] <fab23> it seems not and they have agreed on something for now
[09:13:01] <janrinok> If you look closely at other reporting - they both think that they have agreed to different things.... Not a very auspicious start.
[09:17:20] <fab23> /o\ I try not to follow mainstream news too often and just quickly checked because of Ingar's comment.
[09:18:12] <fab23> But in the end it is not suprising, as both already had very different ideas what should happen.
[09:20:40] <c0lo> janrinok, lemme guess, 2weeks something?
[09:26:45] <janrinok> 1. Iran and Pakistan believe it should include IDF attacks on Lebanon, the IDF do not agree with that.
[09:28:32] <janrinok> 2. The US wants the S of H opened to maritime traffic - the Iranians say that are going to control the passage of vessels.
[09:30:05] <janrinok> 3. 2 weeks will be welcomed, but it is unlikely that the maritime traffic will be able to recover in that time frame. LPG will take over a year to be able produce sufficient quantities to satisfy need.
[09:33:03] <janrinok> The 10 point plan which Iran has provided is very unlikely to ever be agreed to by the USA. It expects that USA to pay 'reparations' (pay to rebuild the factories that 'could' produce missiles), the complete cessation of all war in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen (the proxy militias will remain intact and operational), and the lifting of all sanctions on Iran.
[09:34:58] <janrinok> So we seem to be a long way from reaching a lasting agreement, and the last 2 sets of negotiations were interrupted by the US starting military attacks. There is little trust there. Iran also expects the US to remove ALL forces from the 'region'. I don't see that being agreed upon.
[09:38:02] <janrinok> But at least they will begin talking on Friday in Islamabad(?). I'm not optimistic. The regime is still in place, the IRGC is still operational, they are still capable of attacking others in the region, they expect to have control over the Straits.
[09:38:48] <janrinok> In fact Iran seems to be better off now that before it started. They have de facto control over the straits whether anyone agrees to it or not.
[09:55:33] <Ingar> I said "Boom Boom Boom Boom" and went playing with rapsberry pis
