[02:28:47] <Bytram> Hi! Can someone please tell me how to change (increase) the font size? (FWIW, I'm using an older on Ubuntu)
[02:33:26] <Bytram> please ping me if you have any suggestion!
[05:15:21] <c0lo> Bytram, an older what? In "I'm using an older on Ubuntu" I mean.
[06:50:55] <halibut> Bytram: A lot of applications have a View menu which might have a Zoom option. In many web browsers, there is some shortcut to increase the size of things, I think usually Ctrl-+ (control and the plus sign, sometimes control and equals do it, other times you need to hold control-shift-equals, becuase shift+equals is plus).
[06:51:51] <halibut> There might be a Window Manager option to increase font size generally, but knowing exactly where might take some doing. There is probably a Settings app (on Ubuntu, there might be a search bar you can just type in ``settings'').
[06:52:12] <halibut> From there, I would look for an Accessibility menu/option, which is likely to have a general font size.
[07:31:41] <c0lo> Current Firefox, Preferences/General - you have default font (with size), "advanced" font and zoom settings.
[07:33:05] <c0lo> (ie - change the font size in what context?!? System wide, browser, what?)
[09:38:44] <Ingar> In KDE, I have an option to scale applications
[09:38:58] <Ingar> e.g. on TV I have it on 150% or something
[13:15:23] -!- c0lo has quit [Quit: Client closed]
[14:05:00] <Fnord666_> Bytram - Most systems have something in the accessability settings section for generally increasing the size of fonts, etc. Set "Settings > Accessability > Large Text" to On.
[16:27:50] <Fnord666_> Re the Persian Gulf thing, I think Donald Trump's statements and responses are because his advanced senility prevents him from remembering what was actually said and what he now believes was said. At any rate none of this is going to end well. He's dug a hole so deep he can't climb out and no one is going to throw down a rope.
[16:46:17] <chromas> Rename it the Murikan Gulf
[16:46:27] <chromas> or Golf, just for extra fuckery
[17:24:15] <Ingar> just use Dutch
[17:24:22] <Ingar> Gulf translates to Golf
[17:24:28] <Ingar> and Golf is also Golf
[17:24:40] <fab23> VW Golf? :)
[17:25:02] <janrinok> ... that's why talking confusingly is referred to as "double dutch".
[17:25:14] <fab23> I see
[17:26:06] <Ingar> for extra fun, it also means wave
[17:28:25] <janrinok> Trump has just been on TV complaining about the European allies not being 'enthusiastic' about joining in the US/IDF debacle. He now thinks that it is a NATO responsibility. Israel isn't part of NATO. NATO didn't start it and no NATO member has been attacked.
[17:29:24] <Ingar> europe should have condamned the illegal invasion to begin with
[17:36:40] <prg> hasn't turkey kind of been attacked?
[17:37:21] <prg> or cyprus?
[17:38:31] <Ingar> afaik some us bases there
[17:38:43] <Ingar> and I think it was turkish cyprus
[17:39:03] <Ingar> also, that was after the US and Israel started bombing
[17:39:40] <Ingar> everything Iran has done so far has been a direct response to the attacker's actions
[17:40:40] <Ingar> lol, I was just watching a video on the subject, the guy quote "he who controls the spice, controls the universe"
[17:41:12] <Ingar> which reminds me of a quote of Wensicia Corrino "it's not he who controls the spice, but whe who can disrupt the flow of spice who controls the unicerse"
[17:41:16] <Ingar> *universe
[18:07:54] <janrinok> Ingar, the attempted attacks against Turkey are believed to have been aimed at Incirlik airbase (US) and not specifically targeting Turkey. As they were both shot down the actual target is assumed to be the airbase. Cyprus was targeted by Hezbollah, not by Iran, although they were not supporting the war directly, but the Americans fly U2-type aircraft from there.
[18:10:12] <janrinok> "In September 1976, the US U-2 operations were reassigned to the 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing (9th SRW), but the U-2 operation at RAF Akrotiri continued to be called Operating Location (OLIVE HARVEST) OH until September 1980. Thereafter, it became Detachment 3 of the 9th SRW, although the name OLIVE HARVEST continues. Two U-2s are stationed at RAF Akrotiri, and they are still monitoring the ceasefire agreement between the Egypt
[18:10:12] <janrinok> and Israel, although the present operations in the US Central Command area requires further missions. U-2s also transit through RAF Akrotiri either on going into the Central Command theatre, or returning to Beale AFB, California.[11]"
[18:11:04] <Ingar> janrinok, thanks for the clarifications
