[11:59:06] <janrinok> I missed them too
[12:27:35] <Ingar> it was my first time
[12:28:16] <Ingar> but I never expected this kind of spectacle
[12:28:40] <Ingar> at some poin there were green clouds crossing the sky from west to east
[12:32:48] <fab23> must be incredible to see with your own eyes, I guess photos and videos may only show parts of it
[12:37:09] <Ingar> I did make some pics, but field of view was to small
[12:37:19] <Ingar> so you so a starry sky with some red and green background
[12:37:24] <Ingar> *so you see

[12:51:03] -!- halibut has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[13:00:04] <janrinok> I have seen them before, even here in N France. I think it was last year or maybe 2024. But it is one of those sights that you cannot see too often IMO.
[13:01:38] <janrinok> I also flew up in the Arctic circle and caught glimpses of them out of the window - military aircraft, not many windows and we all have a job to do when airborne. I also witnessed St Elmo's fire inside the aircraft. That was spectacular.

[15:10:17] <Ingar> janrinok: I wish I had some fancy pictures to share, but I opted to watch instead of messing with a photocam
[15:30:42] <fab23> Ingar: you did the right thing.
[15:32:52] <janrinok> definitely!
