[04:30:25] <kolie> u see a lot of weird shit in socal.
[04:31:18] <kolie> Theres this one area in santa ana, they openly smoke meth on the corner, and have like all day 15-20 people just fucking in a daze standing around starting shit with each other, semi block party, right on the corner outside a strip mall, middle of santa ana
[04:31:27] <kolie> broad daylight, cops drive by dont even stop when they see it.
[04:31:44] <kolie> I'm sure they pick em up at some point, but its catch and release and they just right back out there.
[04:32:07] <kolie> And these people, its like people of walmart, special edition.
[04:32:31] <kolie> bikes and backpacks aplenty
[04:32:51] <chromas> We usually just have shopping carts and strollers
[04:34:57] <kolie> those too.
[04:35:07] <kolie> the strollers full of shit
[04:35:10] <kolie> no babies thank christ.
[04:35:14] <kolie> cps does their job.

[14:49:37] <jman> Oops, this looks old. Where's the current channel?
[14:52:11] <jman> Anyone home?
[14:52:39] <Bytram> No. :)
[14:53:19] <Bytram> Only briefly
[14:53:43] <jman> ;)
[14:54:20] <jman> Haven't used IRC in a while. Was used to WeeChat on *nix. *trying* to get used to LimeChat on Mac. Just now found the user list.
[14:55:22] <jman> Anywho, the site probably knows, but have been getting two email digests since Tuesday.
[15:18:48] <janrinok> This is the current channel
[15:19:35] <janrinok> Looks like most people are busy. It is a holiday here tomorrow (All Saints Day) so people here are trying to clear their desks for the long weekend.
[15:20:49] <janrinok> The site is being rebuilt and lots of things that were not working are springing back into life. Your digests are being sent because you have requested them. You can switch them off in your personal pages if you wish.
[15:21:21] <janrinok> jman^
[15:21:36] <Ingar> jman: are you actually receiving the digest twice ?
[15:22:55] <janrinok> No, but I have not seen what digests you have requested. Do you want me to look?
[16:24:07] <kolie> o/
[16:29:12] <kolie> ima run a few errands.
[16:46:47] <janrinok> o/ OK
[16:56:43] <janrinok> I don't think the quotes at the bottom of each page are changing, or they are selecting from a very short list.
[17:06:26] <jman> My favorite Saint is Arnold. On account of the ale.
[17:18:04] <Ingar> Saint Rita
[17:18:10] <Ingar> the patron of hopeless cases
[17:24:04] <ted-ious> jman: Did you try turning it off and waiting 30 seconds before turning it back on? :)
[17:30:52] <janrinok> Ingar:
[17:30:57] <janrinok> A long time ago, way back in history,
[17:30:57] <janrinok> When all they had to drink was nothing but cups of tea,
[17:30:57] <janrinok> Along came a mane by the name of Charlie Mopps,
[17:30:57] <janrinok> And he invented a wonderful drink and he made it out of hops
[17:30:57] <janrinok> Chorus:
[17:30:58] <janrinok> He might have been an Admiral,
[17:31:00] <janrinok> a Sultan or a King
[17:31:02] <janrinok> And to his praises we shall always sing.
[17:31:06] <janrinok> Look what he has done for us: he's filled us with cheer.
[17:31:08] <janrinok> God bless Charlie Mopps, the man who invented beer beer beer tiddily beer beer beer
[17:31:10] <janrinok> A barrel of malt a bucket of hops
[17:31:12] <janrinok> and add some yeast
[17:31:14] <janrinok> put it all together and let it ferment and swell
[17:31:16] <janrinok> When it's brewed and ready at 11 o'clock we'll stop
[17:31:18] <janrinok> for 5 short seconds we'll remember Charlie Mopps
[17:31:20] <janrinok> (Put your local pubs here)
[17:31:22] <janrinok> At Carnsies and the Flat Iron
[17:31:24] <janrinok> and Pickle Bill's as well
[17:31:26] <janrinok> One thing I can be sure of
[17:31:28] <janrinok> It's Charlie's beer they sell
[17:31:30] <janrinok> Some come along you lucky lads
[17:31:32] <janrinok> at 11 o'clock we'll stop
[17:31:36] <janrinok> for 5 short seconds we'll remember Charlie Mopps
[17:32:32] <Ingar> cheers
[18:25:51] <kolie> I'll have to look at the quote generator again.
[18:25:55] <kolie> There is a task that run
[18:26:02] <kolie> The command it run was /etc/games/fortune
[18:26:04] <kolie> that didn't exist befoe.
[18:26:09] <kolie> I did install it.
[18:26:48] <chromas> That's the ancient way. It's probably fortunectl now
[18:26:53] <chromas> or lsfortune
[18:28:13] <kolie> it looks like I rebuilt the container and fortune got uninstalled
[18:28:20] <kolie> I need to do a rehash image build and refresh live with it.
[18:28:50] <chromas> Have another container whose whole purpose is fortunes-as-a-service, then have rehash hit that up
[18:29:14] <kolie> ikr
[18:29:26] <kolie> What I did was manually install fortune, and update the dockerfile on github
[18:29:39] <kolie> what I did not do was pull that image, and rebuild the container on live, so the manual install was overwritten
[18:30:02] <kolie> I'm starting a container image build with fortune back in, and ill swap it over once its done, takes awhile to build rehash.
[18:30:55] <kolie> I haven't had time to drop down by the DC and load in the ssd, I think that'll help with build times on rehash as well. Compilation on SSD was always a shining point.
[18:31:35] <chromas> Build locally on a ramdisk, the rsync it over :D
[18:34:15] <kolie> Going flying, bbiab.
