[19:53:15] <aristarchus> I am only here to raise the level of discourse! Thank you both for contributing to my cause.
[19:55:27] <requerdanos> perhaps the bot not acknowledging your attempted submissions is a hint that you have perhaps up to now been a little to thick to absorb?
[19:56:01] <aristarchus> Oh, in the censorship thread, did janrinok really just say we should attack the message, and not the messager, regardless of content? Mixed messages, unclear instructions. "Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do! I'm half crazy, over the deletions of comments."
[19:58:31] <aristarchus> Requerdanos, It has been quite a while that anyone using the aristarchus handle could not submit on IRC, my "attempt" was just an illustration. Did you not understand that?
[19:58:58] <requerdanos> I did, in fact, observe that very thing.
[19:59:56] <aristarchus> Observation is one thing, understanding another.
[20:00:22] <requerdanos> I'd bet if you kept off-topic and inflammatory submissions to your self, and only submitted articles likely to be welcomed (or at least neutral), the bot would suddenly recognize your nick again. Just my feeling.
[20:07:41] <aristarchus> Tried that. Found out it is the messager, not the message
[20:09:20] <requerdanos> well, the message makes the messenger, so I suppose it would take a while not not be "sudden" at that.
[20:09:49] <aristarchus> Besides, what is "off-topic" for SN? Besides the tautological aristarchus submissions?
[20:11:49] <requerdanos> generally, inflammatory stories likely to stir up strife are off-topic. Stories with no STEM point flirt with offtopic, but might be fit in somewhere. STEM stories, computing stories, software/hardware stories have a good chance of being on topic (but see inflammatory injunction above).
[20:12:14] <aristarchus> Been there, done that. See above comment.
[20:12:17] <requerdanos> I am so glad that you are taking an interest in learning this.
[20:12:43] <aristarchus> Same old, same old. Censorship. I am not scared, or tired.
[20:13:24] <aristarchus> And isn't this about the point, when the truth comes out, that I am kicked from this channel?
