[12:27:59] <chromas> ipv6 is hard I guess
[12:28:50] <chromas> I added an aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa record and now my nginx replies with a subdomain's virtual server output whenever the default server's hit up by ipv6
[12:29:13] -!- norayr [norayr!~norayr@37.252.sq.ypj] has parted #soylent
[12:35:42] <chromas> I guess I need a listen [::] in the default server too
[12:36:48] <chromas> nginx.conf is hard I guess
[12:37:11] <chromas> Would be neat if there was a standard way of doing things instead of 650 ways of doing any particular thing
[12:45:33] <fab23> chromas: I have seen installs of Nginx, I will keep my Apache httpd :)
[12:46:27] <fab23> chromas: but also with Apache it is wise to add a IPv6 listen to the default virtual host
[12:47:15] <chromas> I guess I just assumed that since it didn't specify an ip (just listen 443) that it would listen on ipv6 too
[12:47:34] <chromas> but one virtual server had the listen [::] so I guess it became the default somehow
[12:47:48] <fab23> probably
[12:48:37] <fab23> I even went so far and defined beside the default also a vserver for the hostname itself, so that all the scanner just hit the IP and none of my "real" sites.
[12:50:00] * chromas invents a new even more betterer http server with all the same power and flexibility but with a magically clean simple config format
[13:04:04] <fab23> chromas: an .ini file? :)
[13:06:52] <chromas> yeah, and I'll call it something like chippewa or redskinq
[13:36:50] <fab23> best to have a rust or go single binary, else it will not use enough memory :)
[14:15:31] <chromas> The problem with a single binary is you can optimize out all the code you don't need
[14:15:40] <chromas> So even better is to use shared libs where you can't do that
[14:15:50] <chromas> But I'll make it depend on both gtk and qt
[14:16:56] <fab23> don't forget systemd :)
[14:17:30] <fab23> and it should only run in a Docker, so other OSes can not use it :)
