[04:14:55] <FatPhil> has musk started?
[04:15:12] <FatPhil> should I hate musk more or less?
[04:27:38] <FatPhil> after AI day II, I almost feel sorry for the idiot
[04:28:29] -!- Tekk_ [Tekk_!~tekk@bsfkcx-540-94-221-98.cust.tzulo.com] has joined #soylent
[04:28:44] <FatPhil> at least he brought bits of metal with actuators to the second AI day, unlike the dancing clown from the first
[04:29:10] <FatPhil> but ASIMO was 100 times as advanced 2 decades ago
[04:30:23] <FatPhil> at least moving into the "idiots talk shit to idiots" space he can't pretent he's groundbreaking
[04:30:29] <FatPhil> or can he?
[04:30:40] <AzumaHazuki> look, we're in the stupidest timeline, okay?
[04:30:51] <FatPhil> AzumaHazuki++
[04:30:51] <Bender> karma - azumahazuki: 89
[04:30:59] <FatPhil> so true
[04:31:00] <AzumaHazuki> stop expecting anything good or honest or just or fair. we're staring the great filter in the face
[04:31:07] -!- Tekk__ has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
[04:31:16] <AzumaHazuki> i've just stopped caring. there is going to be a housing crisis in Hell inside of a decade
[04:32:21] <FatPhil> I'm an ageing hippy, I kinda hope that we can somehow blunder forwards, and that it would take real effort to go backwards
[04:32:55] <FatPhil> and I'm constantly surprised how much effort people are willing to expend
[04:34:19] <AzumaHazuki> i'm not. not after the things people have done to me
[04:34:38] <AzumaHazuki> i just want it all to be over already. this is a stupid and slow and humiliating way for civilization to die
[04:35:09] <FatPhil> i think this is why I like Estonia
[04:35:41] <FatPhil> it's literally had to invent itself from scratch on the last 31 years
[04:36:12] <FatPhil> going forwards is a real thing, and people strive(d) for it.
[04:37:02] <FatPhil> I'm not saying that being occupied by Russia was a Bad Thing(TM), but maybe, just maybe, it was
[04:37:27] <FatPhil> crazy talk, I know
[04:38:27] <FatPhil> anyway - things good chez Azuma?
[04:38:57] <AzumaHazuki> things are...feeling very very odd. the ends of the timeline are flapping in the temporal breeze
[04:39:01] <AzumaHazuki> i don't like this feeling
[04:39:24] <FatPhil> times are strange, certainly
[04:40:19] <FatPhil> but you're qualified to stab idiots in new ways?
[04:40:58] <FatPhil> if I understood your jabby comments from a couple of days back
[04:42:36] <AzumaHazuki> not quite...i have to get a CPR cert first
[04:42:51] <FatPhil> then stab them!
[04:43:14] <FatPhil> :)
[04:43:18] <AzumaHazuki> indeed. though, the ones i most want to stab will not be coming for the stabbing, as they think it will turn them into 5g receivers or some such
[04:43:40] <FatPhil> "ha-ha, only serious"
[04:44:20] <FatPhil> Lehrer: "I don't want to satirise them, I want to vapourise them"

[04:44:46] <SedBot> <FotPhil> he may have uzed zeds
[04:49:16] <FatPhil> I prezume you saw the 'pentagram' = penta + gram = 5 + g = 5G meme?
[04:50:52] <FatPhil> seddy - why am I "fot"?
[04:54:37] <AzumaHazuki> i'm wondering if the local antivax troll on SN, who is definitely not runaway posting AC, is going to start up again
[04:55:07] <AzumaHazuki> looking forward to the meme pictures of me with the "reptilian rage-comic face" photoshopped in :v
[04:57:05] <FatPhil> antivax? that's chromas isn't it?
[04:57:12] * FatPhil trolls
[04:59:53] <FatPhil> my only regret was that pre-weakening_mutation covid wasn't fatal. The local russian-speaking population were largely anti-vax
[05:01:00] <FatPhil> estonian speakers, 85% vaxed, russian speakers 54%, IIRC
[05:02:20] <FatPhil> there's a reason /homo sovieticus/ is considered a sub-species.

[13:47:58] <FatPhil> at least the one that a local brewery made was one of the better ones at the collabfest, so we don't have to be ashamed of it
[13:48:35] <FatPhil> I've not checked the Untappd ratings/reviews from around Europe yet, though, I might just be doing homerism.
[13:50:22] <janrinok> doh!
[13:50:55] <janrinok> It sounds like it was a success anyway. Was it as many people as you expected?
[13:51:14] -!- norayr [norayr!~norayr@178.160.ntr.vs] has joined #soylent
[13:52:14] <FatPhil> all the pubs were a bit quiet, but it was a work night.
[13:54:35] <FatPhil> at the swiss beer tasting, someone brought a bottle to share that had been under-sea aged - but they lost it, and after sending out a bunch of dive missions over the next 4 years finally publicised where they'd lost it, and let other divers find it for them. Someone did the right thing, and returned it to them.
[13:56:58] <janrinok> I'm not sure of the benefits of under-sea aging - I suppose it is a consistent temperature. Any other obvious benefits (apart from the obvious problem of losing it!)?
[13:58:19] -!- AzumaHazuki has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[14:02:03] <janrinok> I didn't realise Azuma was here - I would have congratulated her on her sticking needles in arms course....
[14:03:17] <janrinok> at least, I think it was a course.
[14:07:13] <FatPhil> it was a gimick. someone tried it a decade or so earlier
[14:07:35] <FatPhil> I think it was because some ancient "shipwreck" beers had been in the news recently
