[03:23:02] <chromas> Seems like removing the ums_realtek kernel module does the trick for stopping the systemd/dbus cpu hogging
[03:24:07] <chromas> Both boxen that were doing it just happen to have an unused SD card slot and for some reason, as of updating a few weeks ago, that means a message needs to be sent across dbus every minute
[03:25:01] <chromas> except the message never empties from the queue I guess, so every time it does it, it sends all the old messages too, so it does like 5, then 8, then 12 and it just goes up every minute, until it's sending hundreds each time and the mem/cpu goes up

[06:55:38] <chromas> There once was a user with the nick poutine who was a dickwagon and decrementing his karma kinda became a meme at some point
[07:02:48] <inz> My OCD tries, yet fails, to read that as a limerick
[07:03:10] <inz> If you pronounce dickwagon in a fake french kind-of way, that sill works, but it all falls apart after that
[07:07:48] <janrinok> poutine (user id # 106) I'm not sure why he left other than he was karma'd to hell. I suppose that would be enough to do it.....
[07:08:17] <chromas> Perhaps he was the real ari all along
[07:08:34] <janrinok> He was definitely involved in the pre-active phase of setting the site up but I cannot remember what his skills were.
[07:08:43] <janrinok> Could be......?!
[07:08:59] <chromas> Naysaying mostly, as I recall
[07:09:11] <janrinok> yeah, that's all I can remember now
[07:09:38] <chromas> limericks eh
[07:09:59] <chromas> There once was a man from Venius, whose hat was as big as his genius
[07:10:15] <janrinok> I don't particularly associate that with him but I only have vague recollections
[07:10:29] <chromas> that part was in reply to inz
[07:10:37] <janrinok> ah, 'k
[07:11:47] <janrinok> poutine the food looks like it would be very bad for your health but would taste great, and on that basis alone I would love to try it.
[07:12:41] <chromas> If it weren't for that one guy, it would probably have a karma of at least 3.

[07:28:30] <janrinok> Europeans don't tend to like US chocolate - it doesn't taste the same as the chocolate that we are used to. In much of Europe it is much darker and more bitter (very little milk fats in it) or it is more like Cadbury's used to be
[07:29:27] <c0lo> US doesn't have chocolate, what they call so it's rancid milk

[08:07:49] <FatPhil> butyric acid is more usually associated with baby vomit aromas than just rancid butter or milk, but as you can possibly tell from the name, it did start with a butter connection. Brewers know it as a sign of clostridium infection.
[08:08:13] <FatPhil> But the usual "rancid butter" chemical is diacetyl.
