[00:07:44] <FatPhil> hindsight shows that using OSM's overpass API, just searching for shops named ~ *ls in daytona beach would have narrowed it down to only a dozen or so places, so we didn't need to scratch our heads afterall.

[01:06:23] <chromas> FatPhil: swap out the "www." for "mbasic." and that might help

[01:19:32] <FatPhil> alas that just redirects to an unsupported browser page
[01:22:29] <FatPhil> or a cookie complaint page.
[01:45:45] <FatPhil> I notice that the page returned by curl has some lovely "&" double-escaping, always a sign you're doing something sane if you need to protect yourself against yourself.
[01:46:10] <chromas> oh yeah, I see a bunch of json
[01:55:47] <FatPhil> I see nothing worth trying to extract.
[01:56:17] <FatPhil> 170KB of "HTML", no actual content
[01:56:21] <chromas> I found the comments on the link I tried it on. Same result
[01:56:34] <chromas> Maybe it depends on the link

[08:43:39] <FatPhil> do you have points?
[08:43:59] <FatPhil> then again, if you're offered the pulldowns to mod, you have the points

[15:11:26] <chromas> Killing init worked last time...for a few hours. Then suddenly, cpu fan spinning up and down again. Turns out it's systemd-home—the portable /home manager nobody asked for—trying to start itself up, only to decide it's not installed...over and over again.
[15:11:40] <chromas> So I turn that off and all is well...for a few hours...
[15:13:10] <chromas> Now it's "systemd --user" spinning for half a second, followed by dbus-daemon...over and over
[15:13:22] <janrinok> something in the systemd must be saying it is required - find that something and remove the systemd-home entry from it.
[15:14:07] <janrinok> I don't have this problem so I am not sure why your config is asking for it?
[15:14:29] <chromas> Me either, and it's only that one box. All my boxen have the systemd
[15:15:00] <chromas> It's just that every time I get it to quit, some other part of systemd decides to be a dick
[15:15:46] * chromas blames ari
[15:17:54] <FatPhil> I've uninstalled arisystemd
[15:18:08] <FatPhil> out
[15:18:11] <FatPhil> in
[15:18:14] <FatPhil> shake it all about
[15:20:53] <janrinok> I'm sure that you have thought about comparing your systemd control directories - other than that I have little to offer.
[15:24:32] <chromas> no I'm just bitching about it
[15:29:13] <janrinok> I am always here as a shoulder to bitch on - well, not always, but you know what I mean....
[15:30:51] <chromas> I tried stopping systemd-homed again and it seems to have worked for some reason, even though I didn't see any indication it was trying to run. Unlike the other cpu hoggers, that actually put stuff into the systemd journal before
[15:31:12] <chromas> also I disabled it last time too, so I dunno
[15:33:13] <janrinok> fingers crossed - which makes my typing as bad as Bytram's....
[15:33:54] <janrinok> time to go cooking again...
[15:34:16] <chromas> systemctl start systemd-fingerscrossedd

[17:58:22] <ted-ious> Is there some particular reason you need it?
[17:59:10] <chromas> Because I like init to eat up hundreds of megabytes
[17:59:29] <chromas> also it's there by default and is mostly harmless. mostly
