[13:29:30] <janrinok> I am trying to collect conversation. The aim of the bot is to phone me when we get a report of the site being down or offline. For that I have to look at 'normal' conversation to limit the number of false alarms.
[13:31:14] <janrinok> I have lost far too many hours at weekends watching the site at regular intervals so I know what is going on. I can easily detect 404s, but things like comments not updating or all comments displaying as new require a different approach. One such approach is people who come on here and tell us.
[13:32:30] <janrinok> It will also do more useful things for users but the first hurdle is to get it to meet its primary task.

[14:12:09] <janrinok> I did consider (for a few milliseconds) that I could have a command to do that task - but then realised that it would soon be abused to make the whole thing useless.
[14:15:13] <janrinok> I wasn't hiding it - if you look on #test there is plenty of evidence that I am writing it. In fact there are 2 variants. The python one is already working sufficiently for me to start collecting data. A second version written in D is under development but Python is quicker for rapid prototyping. D is a much better choice for the final program.
