[21:22:04] <Sulla> drink more coffee?
[21:22:07] <Sulla> intake more nicotine
[21:22:10] <FatPhil> Fuck me, /Ad Astra/ was fucking garbage.
[21:22:33] <TheMightyBuzzard> was it? i kinda had high hopes.
[21:30:58] <FatPhil> "Brad goes to Neptune but the script comes from Uranus"
[21:34:16] <FatPhil> I saw it in the fancy iscene screen with Dolby Atmos and dual 4K laser projectors, and it sounded and looked shit.
[21:37:10] <Sulla> Went and read the wiki on it, just like every other movie ill likely not see it
[21:37:40] <Sulla> The last even portion of a movie I saw was the father in law put on one of the new "star trek"s
[21:37:50] <Sulla> saw the enterprise in water and told him I had other things to take care of and left
[21:43:02] <FatPhil> after about 30 minues I started keeping notes on all the utterly bogus science.
[21:43:11] <TheMightyBuzzard> understandable
[21:44:01] <TheMightyBuzzard> awe man, you can't hate on dumb science. that'd put weird science and back to the future both out of the list of classics.
[21:44:09] <FatPhil> the boomy echo in the anechoic chamber, little things like that
[21:44:57] <FatPhil> it got the same rating as Doom (the Rock as Sarge one), from me.
[21:46:22] <FatPhil> if by spoiling it, I will prevent people from going, I'm all up for splurting out spoilers.
[21:47:05] <FatPhil> some of the IMDB use reviews are funny, the hate-it group think has bubbled the trash task near the top.
[21:47:19] <FatPhil> busy thumbs-upping all of them now!
[21:49:15] <TheMightyBuzzard> smoke break
[21:49:15] <TheMightyBuzzard> nicotine++

[23:47:56] <FatPhil> Fuck me the tards are out in force tonight.
[23:49:18] <Bytram> Urgh.
[23:49:34] <Bytram> CarTroubles--
[23:49:34] <Bender> karma - cartroubles: -1
[23:49:45] <Bytram> So I am heading home from work.
[23:49:57] <Bytram> Stop by a store to pick up a couple things.
[23:50:38] <Bytram> Got stuck in heavy-ish traffic, but making progress.
[23:50:53] <Bytram> Get about 1-2 miles from home and am waiting at a stop light.
[23:51:57] <Bytram> Light turns green, I step on the gas, and 15 feet later I hear a "boom!" and suddenly see fountains of steam come up from under the hood as I hear the unmistakable sound of fluid being released.
[23:52:35] <Bytram> Was able to coast right into an adjacent (!!!!) convenience store parking lot, and parked.
[23:53:02] <Bytram> Looked under the hood, and find out the thermostat split in half completely.
[23:53:22] <Bytram> Half still attached to the engine block, other half still attached to the hoses.
[23:57:17] <Bytram> Called Amex roadside assistance.
[23:57:57] <Bytram> They got me a tow (70 minute wait), but he dropped me off at my apt and will take the car to my shop and drop off the keys.
[23:58:08] <Bytram> Could have been a LOT worse!
[23:58:41] <Bytram> I can't imagine if it happened while I was on the Interstate.
[23:59:02] <Bytram> Getting a tow truck on a limited access highway is *really* pricey!
[23:59:44] <Bytram> I'm prolly looking at, I guess, $2-300 for parts and labor?
