[03:47:05] <Bytram> well, I know what blender is, but there is gonna be that one person who doesn't, so added an intro sentence to 'splain it.

[13:57:00] <upstart> ^ 03Top Region-raters of Germany (2019-08-01)
[13:58:05] <FatPhil> lynx and the graphical browser on my n900 are fine, that's about as restrictive an environment as I can lay my hands on.
[14:07:11] <Bender> [SoylentNews] - Scientists Create Fabric That Smells Better The More You Sweat - http://sylnt.us - sweeter-sweaters
[14:14:45] <Bytram> FatPhil: Tried Lynx 2.8.8.1 (from lynx.isc.org) on Win 7 Pro x64... Not the prettiest, of course, and it took me a bit to realize that "v1" was not a version number, but instead meant they had gone "down" 1 place; and that "^1" was not a footnote indicator but instead a gain of 1 place in rank.
[14:15:53] <Bytram> now looking at it with Pale Moon
[14:17:24] <Bytram> might want to put border="1" in the table element; I see white grid when there is a light blue background, but no grid at all when there is a white background.
[14:20:34] <Bytram> Hrmmm, and maybe add cellspacing="0", too.
[14:20:48] * Bytram takes off QA hat

[14:24:18] <Bytram> nice!!!
[14:24:33] * Bytram so wishes he had a linux laptop
[14:25:00] <FatPhil> so far that works in every setup apart from n900 ssh to PC where I use w3m
[14:25:31] <Bytram> hmmm, the ranking change kind of gets lost when it is off to the far right... maybe center it, instead?
[14:26:21] <Bytram> oh, and the titles for column 3 and column 5 are... the same? "since 2019-07-30"
[14:27:49] <FatPhil> I might change the column orders, the first deltas are the rank, the 2nd deltas are the score
[14:28:11] <FatPhil> rank, delta, name, score, delta, medals
[14:28:52] <FatPhil> I plan on having different period deltas though, it could get complex (deltas since last week, last month, last quarter, for example)
[14:29:09] <FatPhil> That might be easiest as 2 separate pages though
[14:30:01] * Bytram ponders
[14:30:05] <FatPhil> I've gone to the kitchen 5 times this afternoon to boil the kettle, and I still haven't had my cup of coffee
[14:30:18] <Bytram> why don't you try boiling water, instead?
[14:30:21] <Bytram> ;)
[14:30:33] <inz> Huh, M$ used to provide VM images for just about all of their crappy browsers, but now they only provide IE8 and up
[14:30:47] <Bytram> no eyed deer
[14:31:04] <Bytram> what version of windows?
[14:31:47] <AndyTheAbsurd> I think maybe anybody still using IE 6 deserves whatever they get from the modern web.
[14:31:59] <Bytram> has been years since I looked, but VMware used to make images available for various applications(?)

[14:32:34] <inz> Bytram, IE8-11 with win7, IE11 with 8.1 and Edge with 10
[14:32:37] <Bytram> sadly, I suspect most of those users are saddled with that choice as some mission-critical app depends on it.
[14:33:02] <FatPhil> oooh, I hear the kettle screaming that it's ready, again....
[14:33:05] <Bytram> think think think
[14:33:46] * FatPhil likes personification too
[14:34:04] <FatPhil> achievement Cup of Coffee unlocked!

[14:34:48] <Bytram> even in lieutenant!
