[00:00:23] <Bytram> got my creative QA juices flowing, if you catch my drift.
[00:04:44] <FatPhil> Some things make no sense on it though.
[00:05:05] <FatPhil> Why are they mapping the I in roman numerals into l rather than I?
[00:05:09] <Bytram> not surprised
[00:05:24] <Bytram> singular *potential* confusable
[00:05:50] <FatPhil> This is why I'm rolling my own mappings. I can't trust anyone.
[00:06:47] <FatPhil> Eth and Thorn are annoying, I've encountered both of those in my beer list. I don't like mapping them both to 'th'
[00:07:00] <Bytram> using ";" as a field delimiter, look at all records that have as the first blank-delimited value in the 2nd field being "0061" will show you all things that have been deemed potentially confusable with a LATIN SMALL LETTER A
[00:07:54] <Bytram> yes, but one can
[00:08:26] <Bytram> elucidate potential confusables from this file and note those which you do not already have a mapping for...
[00:08:46] <Bytram> use *that* to complete your home-rolled-mappings
[00:08:50] <Bytram> =)
[00:10:13] <Bytram> the first column is the code point for the character that could be potentially confused with those identified in the 2nd semicolon-delimited field

[00:22:00] <Bytram> Don't know if this would be helpful, but here is a mapping used for handling IDNA: https://www.unicode.org

[00:22:07] <Bytram> lol
[00:22:14] <Bytram> ${IDNA}
[00:22:14] <fungus> ? Unknown Style "IDNA" ?
[00:22:55] <Bytram> Was looking for this: https://en.wikipedia.org
[00:22:56] <upstart> ^ 03Internationalized domain name - Wikipedia
[00:24:28] <Bytram> FatPhil: that should help get you on your way... with one last thought:
[00:25:38] <Bytram> search for any words in your files that contain a non-ASCII character, output the hex of the (first?) non-ASCII char, the glyph for it, and then the word it appears in.
[00:26:28] <Bytram> sort it in ascending order (with or without making unique or, maybe, counting the number of repetitions)
[00:28:21] <Bytram> gawk "{for (i=1; i<=NF; i++) { if ($i !~ /^[A-Za-Z]*$/) {print $i} } }"
[00:28:51] <Bytram> ^^^ finds and output words that are not ASCII-only
[00:29:41] <Bytram> ^^^ note: coded in IRC; not tested. Hopefully gives the general idea
[00:29:53] <Bytram> and, with that, I've got some things to attend to. laters!

[12:18:23] <Bytram> time to head to work. Have a great day everyone!
[12:55:02] * FatPhil decides to finally come out of the closet
[12:55:27] <FatPhil> which is where I keep a couple of my servers, which have been misbehaving all morning since a brownout.
[13:05:07] <AndyTheAbsurd> LOL!
[13:05:17] <AndyTheAbsurd> My college roommate slept in the closet.
[13:11:14] <SemperOSS> And I hardly have a closet to come out of. Strange how life's circumstances defines your possible behaviour. ;-)
[13:12:17] <SemperOSS> FatPhil: Yo! How goes your intertransliterationalities?
[13:12:27] <SemperOSS> AndyTheAbsurd: Hi!
[13:12:48] <AndyTheAbsurd> SemperOSS: Hello!
[13:17:48] <SemperOSS> As my old laptop has to be replaced due to disabilities, I am awaiting the new one on Sunday. In the meantime, I work on my v-e-r-y old ASUS Eee PC with 2MB RAM. When I have more than a few tabs constantly open in Firefox, it dies in thrashing to the SSD. Anyone else have similar experiences with Firefox that it seems to slowly use more and more resources as time goes by?
[13:18:45] <SemperOSS> Memory and CPU just goes up.
[13:18:53] <SemperOSS> And up.
[13:24:40] <AndyTheAbsurd> Yeah, I've seen that before; it gets especially bad with javascript-heavy pages. (*cough*Facebook*cough*)
[13:25:44] <AndyTheAbsurd> And I think you mistyped the amount of RAM in that machine. AFAIK, the lowest memory amount available in an EeePC was 512MB. (Guessing you just M instead of G.)
[13:29:23] * SemperOSS whistles as he changes 2MB to 2GB ...
[13:29:47] <SemperOSS> La la la
[13:30:49] <SemperOSS> I had a 1MB ^W 1GB option but did £5 worth of surgery to max it out
[13:34:52] <SemperOSS> One of my friends (a Windows-person, but still my friend) swears by Chrome. I have gotten myself used to Firefox and its extensions, but it seems to be more and more of a drag, probably in a combination of Firefox and the sites requiring more and more resources. I can hardly do internet banking on my Eee PC and not at all on my tablet any more.

[17:49:02] <Sulla> Well. the hibiscus was probably more like 10 points, correct potassium ratio was 10ish as well
