[01:34:51] <Bytram> Sulla: very tired, but good. Busy day at work, and then a meeting, and now home having dinner. How are YOU doin?
[01:37:00] <Sulla> Anything interesting at work?
[01:37:29] <Sulla> I'm living in an RV on the most dangerous street in Anchorage, AK working on buying a camper rental business as a side gig
[01:38:27] <Bytram> not really, just people out shopping for themselves or for Father's Day
[01:40:06] <Sulla> is that tomorrow?

[12:18:48] <SemperOSS> (Does it suppoer coffee+=27, which is what I feel like?)
[12:19:15] <Bytram> foo+=27
[12:19:16] <SemperOSS> Bytram: Good. Summer is slowly approaching
[12:19:38] <SemperOSS> Whose programmed that lame bot?
[12:20:27] <Bytram> oh... you have no idea, do you?
[12:20:33] <Bytram> that's Bender
[12:20:57] <SemperOSS> Who's bot is it? (See two wrongs make one right, eh?)
[12:21:32] <Bytram> IIRC it is a behemoth with controls and features out the ying-yang of what we see used here is but a small slice of its capabilities... oh, and IIRC, it is written in TCL
[12:22:53] <SemperOSS> Oh, gosh. I didn't know that TCL was used for real-world problems these days.
[12:23:11] <Bytram> that would be under the careful eye of Deucalion, who -- if given a choice of getting a sharp stick in the eye or working on Bender -- would find it a difficult to reject the pointy thing
[12:23:32] <Bytram> seemingly eons ago I had occasion to do some work in TCL
[12:23:37] <SemperOSS> ... as opposed to the bendy thing, you say
[12:24:16] <Bytram> it was... different, but I managed to adapt relatively quickly back then. Can't remember anything about it more than the name atm, though.
[12:24:33] <Bytram> spinny thingy getting brown stuff, even
[12:24:41] <SemperOSS> Many things I have done, some more obscure and dubious than others, but TCL has not been among them
[12:25:18] <Bytram> that's okay, is not a requirement for helping out here, is in the "wouldn't it be nice if" aka WIBNI dept.
[12:25:55] * Bytram notices the nice segue against being volunteered to do any work on the bot -- pretty smooth, but not quite enough. =)
[12:25:56] <SemperOSS> Ooh, I could actually use a spinny thing right now (preferably without brown stuff) as temperature is rising quite rapidly, approaching 90F rapidly
[12:26:22] <Bytram> rapidly, rapidly... that must be *really* quick
[12:27:11] <SemperOSS> Like a couple of Fs an hour ... indoors
[12:27:57] <Bytram> so, I take that to imply it's getting warmer faster when outdoors
[12:28:08] <Bytram> your problem obviously lies with... doors!
[12:28:23] <SemperOSS> Gahahaha
[12:28:40] <Bytram> =)
[12:29:23] <SemperOSS> I wish it would help opening another door, if I had more, but not so, alas
[12:29:57] <Bytram> how is the humidity? that can make as much if not more of a difference
[12:30:50] <SemperOSS> 58% according to my instrument (not a dipstick, just to let you know)
[12:31:14] <SemperOSS> Tolerable but not great
[12:31:35] <Bytram> much better than when it is over 80%
[12:32:02] <SemperOSS> Ah yes, that would have been two days ago, but luckily the temperature was much lower then
[12:33:09] <Bytram> as long as they are not both growing in synchronicity!

[16:51:46] <boru> There are only exciting onions here, alas.
[16:54:20] <FatPhil> Grill them, and all onions are exciting

[17:05:44] <Sulla> I think in order to stay healthy a person should eat enough onions that their towell smells like onion after a shower

[17:10:02] <FatPhil> I've sweated garlic and curry spices in my time.
[17:10:30] <FatPhil> the annoying thing is that a shower doesn't fix that, because it's inside you!

[18:25:08] <FatPhil> om to the nom
[18:26:19] <FatPhil> picked up some chorizo and a moskva sausage at a delicatessen today, but on the raw side of the shop they had the most orgasmically delicious looking steaks.
[18:26:59] <FatPhil> but at 30e/kg, I shed a tear and walked away
[18:28:20] <RandomFactor> Walked into living room. Said "You buy steak. Me cook." 30 minutes later I had steaks. No questions asked.
[18:29:13] <RandomFactor> I was actually kinda surprised that worked.
[18:30:33] <RandomFactor> Maybe it was the Tim Taylor grunt i did at the end.
[18:35:23] <SemperOSS> FatPhil and RandomFactor, I'm with you on the steak side. Have just finished my chicken Jalfrezi ... It ain't the same, I just say.
[18:43:12] -!- aristarchus has quit [Quit: Web client closed]
[18:44:43] <FatPhil> ooh, I like a good jalfrezi - one of my local pubs (120m away) does an excellent one.
[18:45:06] <FatPhil> Sri Lankan chef, really knows his stuff. One of the best curries in town, even though it's just a pub.
[18:51:06] <SemperOSS> I'm jealous, my own was not great, but nicely spicy.
[18:51:31] <SemperOSS> I'll be back in about an hour, have to do a delivery job.
[18:51:36] <RandomFactor> I've gotten fair at curries. Sadly only I and my motherinlaw eat them in this house. And it has to be completely non-spicy for her. I weep.

[18:52:12] <SemperOSS> See ya soon. AFK
[18:56:01] <FatPhil> There's bugger all spicy food in town. More than there was, but still it's a minority thing. We happily support all the local places, and encourage them by ordering the hottest stuff on the menu. And then after complementing them saying it could be a little hotter. Locals are wimps!

[20:01:34] <Bytram> any ideas for a way to do a simple regex to see if something contains at least one A and at least one B, but order is not important? /(A.*B)|(B.*A)/ immediately comes to mind, but looks... crude, and does not readily scale up to matching A, B, C, D,... in any order.
[20:01:35] * Deucalion mulls the various interpretations of "candid".... does not click that link.
[20:02:32] <Bytram> At the moment, am not too picky and may need to choose the overt, explicit pattern, but would love to see if anyone can come up with something else/better.
[20:02:42] * Deucalion sees regex even in mock up.... ok I'm gone.

[20:56:00] <SemperOSS> Or even a big hole for all I know
[21:06:19] <SemperOSS> FatPhil: I, as always late to the party, was reminded when I was out eating at a Nepalese restaurant and got something-I-do-not-remember-what-it's-called. It was offered in two version, extra hot and extra extra hot. I ordered the EEH version but the owner thought it would be too much for me and said he would make the EH version, with the option to have it replaced if I felt I could take the hotter version. I tried a couple of mouthfuls
[21:06:19] <SemperOSS> and found it only Vindaloo strong, so I asked for the upgrade. He made the whole dish afresh and served that. My companion had eaten all her food when I got the EEH version, but it was worth the wait (and very, *VERY* spicy).

[21:31:06] <FatPhil> I went back to one of my favourite curry houses in Cambridge on a trip to the UK a few years back, and decided to go for a proper botty-burner, the phall. Staff said "that's not actually that good, have the vindaloo instead". So I did. And when it arrived, they provided me with a pot of the phal sauce as well for free! It wasn't as good as the vindaloo, they were right.
[21:33:06] <FatPhil> but to be honest their best curry was always the lamb dhansak.
[21:34:02] <SemperOSS> Which reminds me that I get too little lamb ... as well as too little steak, which my doctor approves very much :-)
[21:34:51] <SemperOSS> ... the too little steak as a whole, that is.
[21:35:09] <FatPhil> there's not much lamb around here. on the daily specials menus on workdays we always look out for lamb. there's quite often duck though, which keeps me happy.
[21:35:57] <SemperOSS> Sigh! I can't remember when last I had Duck a la Orange
[21:36:30] <FatPhil> very little is a l'orange, but we do get a wide range of preparations.
[21:38:15] <SemperOSS> Roast duck, ah! I know what I have to get tomorrow, a nice duck to put in the oven. Thanks for the inspiration
[21:40:33] * SemperOSS wonders if my doctor would consider duck dark meat? ;-)
