[00:23:50] <cmn32480> whelp... we pooched it
[00:23:58] <cmn32480> 10 hours without a story
[00:25:03] * cmn32480 hangs the collective editorial head in lack of shame
[00:27:50] <Bytram> cmn32480: we had one heck of a record going on there, too.
[00:28:05] <cmn32480> no we didn't...
[00:28:21] <cmn32480> we goofed up a couple months ago
[00:28:28] <cmn32480> even the buzzard got in on the ribbing
[00:28:32] <Bytram> sadly, life just caught up with me... had the two prior days off, gorgeous weather, and couldn't bring myself to get out of my apartment -- just utterly wiped out.
[00:28:41] <cmn32480> every one of us is entitled to that
[00:29:03] <cmn32480> zzzzz
[00:30:13] <Bytram> thanks for that. was still able to push out a few stories, but eventually got to the point that there was nothjing left to draw on... had work today, and a buncha errands to run (like car repairs)...
[00:30:31] <Bytram> busy day at work, and still lack full reserves to draw upon.
[00:31:13] <cmn32480> i know
[00:31:17] <Bytram> on a positive note, if I can hold up for it, am going to a concert tomorrow to see my favorite formerly-local singer and her band.
[00:31:25] <cmn32480> I been heads down for 2 days figuring out how MS licensing works
[00:31:37] <cmn32480> take a nap sometime in between now adn then
[00:31:43] <Bytram> that IS NOT a job for mere mortals, or even for lesser deities
[00:31:57] <Bytram> nod nod
[00:32:10] <Bytram> taking my car in for a brake job tomorrow.
[00:32:36] <Bytram> seems the calipers were not entirely releasing... last few feet of braking and ... whomp ... siezes right up short
[00:32:56] <cmn32480> nice
[00:33:01] <cmn32480> sounds like a good time

[20:58:02] <Virindi> https://pastebin.com
[20:58:36] <TheMightyBuzzard> no, i mean the specific message from us what'd help me see which regex triggered it.
[20:58:41] <Virindi> oh
[20:59:11] <Virindi> you can't just pull up a regex checker and see? :P
[20:59:36] <Virindi> it seemed fishy to me that his comment was not accepted, it looks like a real comment
[21:01:33] <TheMightyBuzzard> it was just an ill considered regex on my part i think.
[21:01:57] <TheMightyBuzzard> think i know how to remedy it but for now the old one is deleted.
[21:03:54] <Virindi> maybe mr. dick has moved on
[21:04:01] <Virindi> I guess that is probably too much to hope
[21:06:48] <TheMightyBuzzard> nah but i actually put some work in today and plan on doing some more tomorrow, so he'll have to earn any future posts.

[21:08:23] <Virindi> luckily that one also got hit as spam
[21:08:25] <TheMightyBuzzard> could be. he hops ip addresses for every post.
[21:08:30] <Virindi> ahh
[21:08:53] <Virindi> spam mod pointless then
[21:08:53] <TheMightyBuzzard> not a good strategy though. you eventually run out of easily attained proxies.
[21:09:15] <TheMightyBuzzard> plus i genuinely enjoy outsmarting him
[21:09:42] <Virindi> maybe??? I haven't, uh, gone looking for a proxy lately. But back in the day there were easily googleable lists of tens of thousands of hacked systems with an open proxy
[21:10:21] <Deucalion> TheMightyBuzzard, TheLongDark story mode is delivered now and they came out of alpha..... if tis a game that tweaks your curiosity I picked up a couple copies as gifts that should include all season 1 content as it gets released... picked them up as a ty to the devs as I bought my copy fucking ages ago for peanuts and I've played the shit out of it so felt the need to give a little something back :D Can gift via Steam if interested
[21:10:43] <Virindi> ooh
[21:11:14] <Virindi> I bought that game when you could barely do anything but try to start a fire, I wonder if I get all this "season 1 content"
[21:11:20] <Virindi> haven't touched it since then
[21:12:37] <TheMightyBuzzard> Deucalion, cheers. appreciated. i'd hafta set up steam first though. lemme thunk on it.
[21:12:58] <Virindi> if it helps, the game does have a linux version. or did.
[21:13:06] <Virindi> that's why I bought it :)
[21:13:22] <Virindi> wait, was that that game? jeez maybe I am mistaken.
[21:14:41] <Deucalion> Yes it has a Linux version, tis what I use
[21:14:55] <Virindi> yeah I bought it from them so I would have the drm-free edition
[21:15:11] <Virindi> you crazy steam kids.
[21:15:49] <Deucalion> Virindi, yes, if you bought in early you will have been granted the season 1 stuffs. At least that's how it is via Steam, I'd imagine it's the same via other channels.
[21:16:41] <Virindi> I bought it like a week after they put it out for public sale, on their website they had two buttons "steam" and "from us" which I think was "humble bundle" checkout
[21:16:47] <TheMightyBuzzard> blerg. i needa go shopping but my head is too full of regex-fun to figure out what i need.
[21:16:49] <Deucalion> TheMightyBuzzard, I'll contact them and see if I can convert a Steam gift copy into a key or w/e for another channel to get it.
[21:16:55] <Virindi> that's one of like 4 games I have bought in 15 years
[21:17:46] <TheMightyBuzzard> Deucalion, i don't particularly mind steam. it just don't run worth a damn on the amdgpu driver in linux. prolly work fine in winders.
[21:18:11] <Deucalion> It's one of few I've bought that I've actually played extensively. I've not played the story mode yet and have fastidiously steered away from any videos or reviews of it. About to fire it up in the coming minutes :D
[21:18:31] <TheMightyBuzzard> really do have a head full of regex right now though. makes english interesting to try and understand.
[21:18:55] <Virindi> I was actually a bit bored by it, I played for about 10 hours, survived for awhile, but there stopped being any resources on the map to find
[21:19:15] <Deucalion> TheMightyBuzzard, yeh, exact reason I went with NVidia for my PC.... AMD Linux support sucks more balls than having to swallow the NVidia binary only drivers.....
[21:19:48] <Virindi> yeah I also buy nvidia for that reason, nvidia has always had better drivers (for both os) since the old days
[21:19:56] <TheMightyBuzzard> oh i expect the proprietary ones work fine. they usually do. i wanted to try out these though cause they're always current with the latest kernel/xorg.
[21:21:27] <Deucalion> Virindi, it's come a long way since then. Play Pilgrim mode - 1. the wildlife will leave you alone 2. you'll find more stuff than you can carry. But yeh, at times it can be a little "walking simulator" in easy mode as you don't get beaten up so much by inclement weather... but in that mode it's a soporific chill out time gobbler.
[21:22:32] <Deucalion> I finally have the time and inclination to delve into story after several weeks post release.... so I'm going from this place.
[21:22:38] <Virindi> being attacked by wolves was probably the most exciting part :)
[21:22:51] <TheMightyBuzzard> can ya climb trees?
[21:23:01] <Deucalion> don't look at them.... walk away.
[21:23:06] <Virindi> you can get a rifle
[21:23:15] <Deucalion> craft bows n arrow
[21:23:18] <Virindi> but those darned canadians only keep like 4 rounds of ammunition.
[21:23:23] <Virindi> silly canadians.
[21:23:28] <Deucalion> You find boxes of ammo :P
[21:23:50] <TheMightyBuzzard> #yt blame canada
[21:23:50] <MrPlow> https://www.youtube.com
[21:24:22] <Deucalion> Anyways... I've been on and off with it since early alpha and it's now so much more beautiful and fully formed than it ever was. /me aways - stay warm fols :D
[21:24:34] <Deucalion> folks*
[21:24:52] <TheMightyBuzzard> yarp. i gotta go clear my head so i can figure out what groceries to get.
