[23:37:34] <mecctro> I like the old-style donuts a bit better.
[23:37:04] <pinchy> theres a donut shop near work and maybe once every couple of months someone goes to get a dozen. I think they use palm oil. there not as crumbly as old style one are. theres sort of chewey when fresh
[23:35:37] <mecctro> but overall, it just makes me feel like pure shit.
[23:35:34] <pinchy> well as long as there dry, u knw the white ones in the bag or box, when they get the slightest bit of moisture there ruined
[23:35:25] <mecctro> I can understand the appeal with a few flavors.
[23:35:03] <mecctro> I fucken hate store-bought donuts.
[23:34:37] <mecctro> I only eat medium chain triglycerides, where possible.
[23:34:31] <pinchy> i used to eat those powdered donuts, and the chocolate covered ones
[23:33:55] <pinchy> "crumbly"
[23:33:50] <mecctro> I can have them in small amounts, but it's pretty limited
[23:33:45] <pinchy> i read that any "cumbly" like pasty is full of it
[23:33:35] <pinchy> ive been going out of my way to avoid trans fats
[23:33:31] <mecctro> I miss yams
[23:33:10] <pinchy> i liek candied yams on holidays
[23:32:45] <mecctro> even though it contains no sugar (some weird b vitamin like substance, should my memory serve correct)
[23:32:07] <mecctro> which, apparently, can be made into alcohol with painstaking effort
[23:31:45] <mecctro> sweet potatoes give me gas as well, probably the worst is sun-chokes
[23:29:47] <mecctro> I'd rather eat piles of shit smelling butt-grain, then get one more of those fucking migraines.
[23:29:46] <pinchy> I used to eat sweet potatos but those things make me gassy as well
[23:29:26] <mecctro> keto is great for my migraines, too good to go back to carbs.
[23:28:01] <mecctro> lol
[23:27:59] <mecctro> for obvious reasons
[23:27:51] <mecctro> I try to stay away from anything bleached
[23:27:43] <pinchy> that white rice and white pasta make u stumble rumble like a cement mixer
[23:27:06] <pinchy> i used to eat white instant rice, after switching to brown rice and whole grain pasta i dont fart near as much
[23:27:06] <mecctro> make it about the same as with oats.
[23:26:51] <mecctro> barley is pretty decent for ya, as well as spelt.
[23:26:30] <mecctro> great breakfast replacement, or with other grains.
[23:26:06] <mecctro> hemp hearts are great, a lot like the consistency of quinoa
[23:25:54] <pinchy> they hemp stuff i mixed with quaker oats and water
[23:25:29] <pinchy> the whey i just mix it in a glass of soymilk
[23:25:07] <pinchy> someone said hemp hearts are pretty good
[23:24:57] <mecctro> I don't like the pre-flavored stuff either, are you mixing it with liquid?
[23:24:11] <mecctro> I have no idea what that was, but it sounds like it had spirulina (seaweed) in it... which can smell like shit, especially from bad producers (nasty microbes have popped up from bad producers)
[23:24:10] <pinchy> there ok fr about a day, but after a while it just gets nasty
[23:23:55] <pinchy> no i cant stand any of those flavoured protein supplements
[23:23:30] <pinchy> it was one of those u would have to work really hard to smile when u eat it
[23:23:06] <pinchy> well it couldnt be as bad as that hemp stuff haha
[23:23:00] <mecctro> is it flavored?
[23:22:49] <mecctro> but it's fairly easily fixed with a few easy tweaks.
[23:22:35] <mecctro> It has a bit of a (not so good) flavor
[23:22:16] <mecctro> mixes*
[23:22:11] <mecctro> pea protein isn't horrible to get down, it mixing with lactose fairly well.
[23:21:34] <pinchy> i ordered some pea protein, ill give this a whirl. was before taking some pricey unflavoured lactose free whey
[23:20:39] <mecctro> filler galore
[23:20:34] <mecctro> it and wood-pulp
[23:20:30] <mecctro> It's in absolutely everything they can put it in now
[23:20:17] <mecctro> I'd rather soy just not exist.
[23:20:02] <mecctro> soybeans or horrible, especially for men (increased estrogen)
[23:19:50] <mecctro> I'd rather it than soy
[23:19:45] <mecctro> amaranth is also a pretty ok one.
[23:19:32] <mecctro> between chia, spirulina, hemp seed you can live with little to no issue
[23:19:02] <pinchy> they ought to just grow that instead
[23:18:44] <pinchy> syobean growers hate it coz its a hard to control weed, but apparently its similar to quinoa
[23:18:06] <pinchy> someone mentioned i think on the soylent discussion about a 'weed' called amaranth
[23:17:17] <pinchy> they say its got all the protein u need. bit pricey of course
[23:17:14] <mecctro> chia is pretty decent too
[23:16:56] <pinchy> i tried some of that quinoa stuff, that tastes pretty good
[23:16:34] <mecctro> There's a LOT of interesting (and forgotten) grains / foods.
[23:15:28] <mecctro> but for regular meals I buy (or eat my grown) produce.
[23:15:14] <mecctro> I order most of mine, as it's cheaper.
[23:15:01] <mecctro> whole-foods carries a lot of this type of stuff.
[23:14:39] <mecctro> flaxseed is pretty decent, as well as the oil
[23:14:38] <pinchy> theres a whole foods here, might have to see what they got
[23:14:23] <mecctro> it's all subjective, hell there are people who eat and love maggot cheese
[23:14:20] <pinchy> i heard flax seed is real good for u, might have to order some. u cant find these weird supplements around here
[23:14:00] <mecctro> I love a lot of the typical things people hate (vegetables)
[23:13:41] <mecctro> not sure, it just depends for me.
[23:13:21] <pinchy> what was that guy jack lalanne, said something like "if it tastes good put it back"
[23:13:18] <mecctro> hulled hemp oil is a hell of a lot easier, and just about as good for you
[23:13:03] <mecctro> hulled hemp seed doesn't taste horrible
[23:12:51] <pinchy> yea usually the worst tasting stuff is the best for u heh
[23:12:50] <mecctro> lmao
[23:12:44] <mecctro> had to write in a limiter (I'm not drinking a pound of hemp seed because the program says so)
[23:12:29] <pinchy> a friend of mine came over and was all interested, "ohh let me see " and took a whiff "wow that smells like shit" haha
[23:12:20] <mecctro> while trialing my program, spirulina / hemp seed came up over and over
[23:11:57] <mecctro> Hemp seed is terribly good for you
[23:11:30] <pinchy> yea ive been experiementing with vegetarian diet and tried hemp protein supplement. you have to really force yourself to swallow the stuff. it looks like green dried cow shit, and smells about the same
[23:09:20] <mecctro> lol
[23:09:18] <mecctro> they will most likely taste horrible
[23:08:30] <mecctro> The program I'm writing should help machine learn all possible recipes given certain conditions.
[23:06:54] <mecctro> I also stack my neurotropics in my diet as well.
[23:06:25] <mecctro> I don't have that luxury, as I don't eat anything with carbohydrates / sugar / starch. Though, there are keto DIY ones. Mine is considerably different.
[23:04:37] <pinchy> u make something similar to that DIY soylent? some sort of flour as a base?
[23:03:19] <mecctro> however*
[23:03:14] <mecctro> Howver my 2 meals are considerably smaller than typical meals.
[23:02:50] <mecctro> For me it helps manage my diet better / cheaper, I'm liquid and keto. I have 2 meals a week, or on holiday.
[23:02:31] <pinchy> do u rely on it 100% or augment a regular food diet?
[23:01:53] <mecctro> it's not bad, depending on what you're expecting.
[23:01:42] <mecctro> I make my own, I'm actually writing code now to optimize my diet.
[23:01:13] <pinchy> how long u been doing the soylent drink? u like it?
[23:00:40] <mecctro> I'd by one, but I drink soylent.
[23:00:23] <mecctro> you make a good point.
[23:00:19] <pinchy> like those plinket pizza rolls
[22:59:59] <pinchy> might be a good way to drum up funding
[22:59:30] <pinchy> looks like kinda like those yummy nutrigrain strawberry bars
[22:59:07] <mecctro> good question
[22:58:52] <pinchy> where can i but soylent bars like pictured in the logo?

[10:59:27] <mecctro> gnight
[10:57:18] * Booga1 heads to bed.
[10:46:18] <mecctro> indeed
[10:45:36] <Booga1> I cound 11 as pass out, body gives up.
[10:45:11] <Booga1> Anyway, I can sympathise with severe pain issues. By the time it gets to 8-10, it's time to ask for assistance.
[10:44:03] <mecctro> no idea, how odd
[10:43:27] <Booga1> I've not had lactose issues before then or since, but maybe just because most stuff isn't as pure as Breyers.
[10:42:50] <Booga1> I've not dared to eat it since then. That was the one thing that I ate a big bowl of the night before.
[10:42:47] <mecctro> lactose issues?
[10:42:35] <mecctro> lmao, wth?
[10:42:13] <Booga1> There's a fair chance it was caused by Bryer's icecream.
[10:40:57] <mecctro> don't think I've heard of anything quite like that.
[10:40:39] <mecctro> thankfully
[10:40:34] <Booga1> At least I made it out alive.
[10:40:18] <mecctro> sounds like the beginning of a horror film
[10:39:37] <Booga1> They said the abdominal noise from the stethoscope was something way beyond anything they had ever heard.
[10:38:02] <mecctro> xD
[10:38:00] <mecctro> "twisted intenstines" was the best they could come up with?
[10:37:46] <mecctro> wtf, that's fucking weird as shit lol
[10:37:32] <Booga1> Really weird. Never did figure it out for sure.
[10:37:15] <mecctro> oh, that's fucking weird
[10:37:02] <Booga1> They got me rolled around on the xray table and by the time they were done, I was all better. Best they can figure out was that I had twisted intestines. Investigation solved the problem.
[10:36:58] <mecctro> Sounds pretty horrible, what the hell did you ingest?
[10:35:51] <Booga1> Oh, I woke up one time suffering from abdominal pain that happened about every 15 minutes, getting worse each time. Eventually it got to the point I had a friend haul me to the hospital. By the time I was admitted into the emergency room, I was unable to move, crippled on the floor, and vomiting due to the pain.
[10:33:31] <mecctro> right, external physical stuff in that range, you just go into shock.
[10:33:04] <Booga1> At least when you're reacting to the stuff you've ingested, you have a clue why it's happening.
[10:32:56] <mecctro> How so?
[10:32:01] <Booga1> I've only been in that much pain once, thankfully.
[10:31:11] * Booga1 nods.
[10:29:56] <mecctro> just complete pain override
[10:29:46] <mecctro> "Do something, do that, that's close"
[10:29:30] <mecctro> It was a strange intense feeling of urgency, but being directionless.
[10:28:52] <Booga1> That is like level 10 pain when you lose control of your body and vomit.
[10:27:33] <mecctro> capsaisin: not even once.
[10:27:15] <mecctro> from a toothpick
[10:27:10] <mecctro> it was a full blown trip
[10:27:03] <mecctro> that shit make me scared for my life
[10:26:45] <Booga1> Vomited? That sounds like near pure capsaisin.
[10:26:43] <mecctro> my entire face was numb
[10:26:33] <mecctro> and vomit more
[10:26:27] <mecctro> proceeded to chug random shit
[10:26:18] <mecctro> vomited
[10:25:59] <mecctro> The worst shit I've ever had was this extract (no idea) a friend of mine had, I dipped a tooth-pick in it, put it in my mouth, and just lost my mind.
[10:25:47] <Booga1> I hear that's how the super hot stuff is. Mind altering.
[10:25:11] <mecctro> I just lose my mind.
[10:25:10] <FatPhil> unfortunately, there's almost no hot food here in Estonia, so I'm becoming re-sensitised, and a bit of a chilli wimp
[10:25:06] <mecctro> I can't handle extracts, or really hot stuff.
[10:24:15] <mecctro> haha
[10:24:15] <Booga1> I'm not a pepper wimp, but I know I can't take the top tier peppers and hot sauces.
[10:24:08] <FatPhil> I have been able to track its progress through my body because of the burn
[10:23:38] <Booga1> The worst I've had from peppers was when I ate a habenero pepper whole. That was about three hours of agonizing pain.
[10:23:04] <Booga1> Hot sauce? Nothing worse than burning tongue or burning the day after.
[10:22:13] <mecctro> what's the worst reaction you've ever had to hot-sauce?
[10:21:53] <mecctro> badass
[10:21:36] <mecctro> lol
[10:21:25] <Booga1> Ages ago, I saw a poster with lots of hot sauces. One of them had on the label, in Spanish, "If you're not Mexican, this will kill you."
[10:20:47] <mecctro> "for flavor"
[10:20:38] <mecctro> aka paprika
[10:20:20] <Booga1> Others can be measured in cups.
[10:20:07] <Booga1> Some are so hot you measure them in drops.
[10:19:47] <Booga1> It all depends on the hot sauce.
[10:18:28] <mecctro> I guess it sounded more interesting in my head.
[10:18:11] <mecctro> okeedokee
[10:17:49] <TheMightyBuzzard> i'll leave yall to it then and go play me some vidya. diablo ain't gonna kill himself.
[10:17:20] <mecctro> like, for example: if I have hot-sauce, and tofu, what is the "right" amount of each, based on nutrition, that I should combine for a recipe.
[10:16:43] <Booga1> Hot sauce is usually low calorie, so drown the stuff in it.
[10:16:42] <mecctro> I'm just interested in delivering optimal yeilds of constituent ingrediants, based of what's available.
[10:16:06] <TheMightyBuzzard> even tofu would be edible with hot sauce
[10:15:37] <mecctro> it could take a long time.
[10:15:24] <TheMightyBuzzard> oh, i know... use the nutrition algo then put hot sauce on it
[10:15:18] <mecctro> then combined foods
[10:15:13] <mecctro> linked to each individual food
[10:15:04] <mecctro> Right, just gather a bunch of taste tester data
[10:14:39] <TheMightyBuzzard> prolly, yeah. and have a bunch of taste testers handy to speed up iterations
[10:14:21] <mecctro> it's just an interesting idea, for personal use.
[10:14:14] <mecctro> though, I imagine, the big guys do all this already
[10:14:03] <mecctro> you might have a point, if you could additionaly target taste, you would make a killing.
[10:13:59] <TheMightyBuzzard> witness tofu and kale
[10:13:38] <TheMightyBuzzard> well yeah. nobody cept hippies will give a damn if it tastes like ass but is good for you.
[10:13:17] <mecctro> taste?
[10:13:07] <TheMightyBuzzard> cause that's the survival condition you should be going for
[10:12:48] <mecctro> lol
[10:12:45] <mecctro> noperino
[10:12:38] <TheMightyBuzzard> they do taste testing?
[10:12:13] <mecctro> I can train against the USDA food data and "learn" which "recipe" of my chosen ingredients yeilds the most "optimal" results.
[10:10:48] * TheMightyBuzzard claps and turns the light off
[10:10:30] <mecctro> I'm having a light on' moment
[10:09:04] <TheMightyBuzzard> in many ways i prefer TN but OK is where football lives
[10:07:57] <mecctro> chit happens
[10:07:28] <TheMightyBuzzard> which was a nice change after getting our asses handed to us last week.
[10:06:49] <TheMightyBuzzard> was 42 to 0 at halftime
[10:06:34] <TheMightyBuzzard> whole second half we played our second string just to give them the practice

[10:03:45] <mecctro> seems it
[10:03:30] <TheMightyBuzzard> it did come with beer though, so that's a win.
[10:03:05] <TheMightyBuzzard> unfortunately not, had to fix my own dinner.
[10:02:48] <mecctro> was his name Gene?
[10:02:37] <TheMightyBuzzard> and it was cooked by a guy with human genes wearing jeans
