[00:00:19] <SirFinkus> aww, he's taking the slow way down
[00:02:14] <Ethanol-fueled> What do you mean?
[00:02:20] <Ethanol-fueled> (shitty connection now, can't see stream)
[00:02:42] <SirFinkus> a guy in downtown seattle climbed to the top of an 80 foot tree
[00:02:56] <SirFinkus> he's got traffic shut down, and he's been waving his junk at reporters
[00:03:02] <SirFinkus> been up there since 11:30
[00:03:17] <SirFinkus> throwing shit at cops, pedestrians, and firemen
[00:03:29] <SirFinkus> demanding cigarettes
[00:03:35] <SirFinkus> looks like he's climbing down now
[00:04:14] <Ethanol-fueled> Ahhh, weak
[00:04:33] <SirFinkus> was hoping he'd do a flip
[00:04:52] <SirFinkus> CLIMBING BACK UP
[00:04:56] <SirFinkus> WHAT A HERO
[00:05:35] <SirFinkus> one of the guys working for fox was jealous of komo's helicopter shot, but his colleague said it was ok, because they'll have a better shot if he falls
[00:05:43] <SirFinkus> actual conversation overheard
[00:11:16] <SirFinkus> /me waits for the "war on christmas" angle
[00:11:21] <SirFinkus> huh
[00:11:31] * SirFinkus waits for the "war on christmas" angle
[00:11:51] <SirFinkus> worked that time, must have put a space in
[00:12:07] <SirFinkus> they should either leave him, or shoot pepperballs at him
[00:13:58] <SirFinkus> pissing down rain right now
[00:14:01] <SirFinkus> probably freezing
[00:16:45] <SirFinkus> lol the cops got donuts

[00:55:23] * exec brazenly scissors a DD cup of bling blong for knuckleheads
[00:55:35] <SirFinkus> oi fuck off
[00:55:41] * SirFinkus throws an apple at cmn32480

[01:09:05] <cmn32480> so what's got yer panties in a bunch tonight SirFInkus? The guitar final? Or the guy in the tree?
[01:09:22] <SirFinkus> nothing really, pretty good day
[01:09:29] <SirFinkus> guy in the tree is just entertainment
[01:09:47] <SirFinkus> the guitar final is nbd, I'm just pissed that I bombed it
[01:09:52] <cmn32480> and I see from the backscroll, he is waving his junk around
[01:09:59] <SirFinkus> personally I didn't do as well as I wanted to
[01:10:09] <SirFinkus> but I'll probably get a good grade
[01:10:24] <SirFinkus> first time performing in "public" so I forgot half the shit
[01:10:26] <cmn32480> well... that's a plus
[01:10:40] <cmn32480> the good grade.. not the stage fright
[01:11:13] * cmn32480 is remotely upgrading the firewall at the office..
[01:11:21] <SirFinkus> probably pretty normal, I shouldn't have switched my song as the last moment
[01:11:21] <cmn32480> this couldn't POSSIBLY go wrong!
[01:12:21] * SirFinkus wanted to be ambitious
[01:12:51] <SirFinkus> let that be a lesson to people: never try
[01:13:11] <cmn32480> how else woudl we learn to try adn punch God in the face?
[01:13:38] <Ethanol-fueled> Playing in front of others is like public speaking - harder than it looks.
[01:13:58] <SirFinkus> I was feeling fairly confident going in
[01:13:59] <cmn32480> hell yes
[01:14:12] <Ethanol-fueled> Playing with yourself in front of others is always easy because you can laugh maniacally for extra mana
[01:14:13] <SirFinkus> I didn't have it 100%, but I was at like, 90%
[01:14:24] <Ethanol-fueled> No big deal then.
[01:14:32] <cmn32480> I'm sure it was good.
[01:14:32] <SirFinkus> actually doing it, I did about 60%
[01:14:45] <Ethanol-fueled> No sense cringing over the memories of it at random times
[01:14:50] <cmn32480> if it was complete shit... you would probably say so
[01:14:55] <Ethanol-fueled> Hahaha
[01:14:58] <SirFinkus> part of the problem is that I practiced it playing with the song
[01:15:01] <SirFinkus> oh, it was complete shit
[01:15:08] <SirFinkus> I assure you
[01:15:18] <cmn32480> ~shit

[01:16:27] <SirFinkus> but nobody played it
[01:16:42] <Ethanol-fueled> Being able to play Stairway (sans solo) all the way through is the official test of mediocrity

[16:58:51] <dyingtolive> Runaway - I don't. most of them are old and I have little use for nude pics of Bill.
[16:59:15] <cmn32480> dyingtolive - we needed the serial ports for what we do. just a job requirement
[17:00:20] <chromas> Bring back the parallel port!
[17:00:33] <cmn32480> I have them on my docks

[17:00:57] <dyingtolive> oh, i've been there. i've worked on market data feed handlers so old that they don't support ethernet. had to use serial to communicate to another box that actually connected to a modern network.
[17:01:08] <cmn32480> all my usb ports run in parallel. if they ran is serial it woudl be really slow
[17:01:42] <cmn32480> yep... our are mostly dealing with thermal printers and mobile computers
[17:04:20] <dyingtolive> saddest part was that those feed handlers were solaris 8 boxes, and this was something i was doing within the last 5 years.
[17:04:33] <cmn32480> sometimes stuff jsut works
[17:05:07] <dyingtolive> not when you're the support guy. you only hear about it when it's broke. :)
[17:05:13] <cmn32480> we had printers in a steel mill that were 1985-87 vintage. Worked right up to when the mill shut down about 2 years ago.
[17:05:34] <dyingtolive> nice. that's thermal printers for you.

[17:11:16] <cmn32480> all the folks that do the wireless surveys, installations, tech support, on site printer service, etc. all report to me.
[17:11:43] <dyingtolive> nice. sounds like a pretty good place to be.
