[05:04:15] <mrcoolbp> Yeah, it's actually pretty good juggs

[05:16:28] <clippit> ^ 03SN article: NSA's Grand Plan to Snowden-Proof Its Data Using the Cloud 04(29 comments)
[05:16:28] <chromas> I think it shows they skipped over some content
[05:16:38] <chromas> instead of having a huge quote
[05:16:45] <Ethanol-fueled> Oh, that makes sense.
[05:18:08] <juggs> Yep, comparing the source to the summary in that case shows it's a large snip
[05:18:44] <Ethanol-fueled> That's pretty pedantic, but also an important tradition.
[05:18:45] <juggs> Dropped a couple of paragraphs on the first snip in that summary
[05:20:09] <juggs> It also encourages people to read the source and it's not right to put entire articles from other sources verbatim into our aggregation summaries.
[05:41:35] <juggs> Game of Thrones story makes sense to me now - seems HBO have cottoned on that a "leak" of low res episodes up to a cliff-hanger moment increases their net viewership and subsequently income. Maybe they got the memo that "piracy" is not going to be stopped no matter what, so they are looking to manipulate it to their own ends. That's a fairly fundamental shift of atitude if so.
[05:43:47] <Ethanol-fueled> Correct, juggs.
[05:44:32] <Ethanol-fueled> And since we have it at our fingertips now, if we see something bitchin' we're gonna pay to see it in the most bitchin' way possible.
[05:46:38] <juggs> Hopefully, next to go will be geo-locking content access and geo-price-gouging behaviour. I'm sure our brethren over in Aus / NZ would welcome the latter, they seemed to get reamed on price for pretty much everything.
[05:49:36] <Ethanol-fueled> Ugh, that's horrible.

[23:54:30] <SirFinkus> I doubt people are in the mood when they're doing their taxes

[23:58:10] <SirFinkus> not an exaggeration either, and the best part is most of their software revolves around putting in personal information
[23:58:15] <arti> "Because TurboTax is built for a specific tax year, you'll need TurboTax 2014 to file your 2014 tax return. There is no way to update your TurboTax 2013 (or earlier) software to handle the 2014 tax law changes."
