[00:12:20] <TheMightyBuzzard> paulej72, oh yeah you did say you'd look at the tor bug this weekend in a comment
[00:13:00] <paulej72> yea I am looking at that, but I thoght there was something else

[01:00:22] <paulej72> well I was correct, redirects are a bit borked or login. They are hardcoded. Need to figure out how to get them from apache
[01:07:16] <Bender> [SoylentNews] - Southern California Edison Replacing IT Workers with H-1B Workers - http://sylnt.us - a-company-in-decline?
[01:09:52] <crutchy> ¿
[01:17:15] <juggs> you've gone all upside down again crutchy :)
[02:04:54] <juggs> TheMightyBuzzard, one thing I have noticed with having mod points available every day with longer validity period, is that I'm using them more frugally. Previously it was always a case of "woot! got mod points, must use them before they disappear" then go actively looking for things to mod. Now, it's a far more considered approach to where they get applied.

[03:54:27] <nick> i was thinking about the headlinn, my perception of it and the dept. before rtfs, your sarcasm
[03:54:31] <nick> and then the first comment
[03:54:40] <nick> headline*
[03:55:03] <nick> and obviously tfs itself
[03:57:22] <juggs> OK.. as a UK-ite that first comment has me all "WTF". That's a good sign I need to sleep :D

[04:24:22] <paulej72> Got the redirect bug fixed
[04:25:53] <TheMightyBuzzard> dude, nice. figured it would take longer.
[04:26:41] <TheMightyBuzzard> i'd say go ahead n push it live if you like. it's not like we have things stacked up that would need to be merged with it.
[04:28:13] <chromas> while you're at it, change the theme to red for st sex day
[04:29:56] <paulej72> TheMightyBuzzard: when do mod points respan
[04:31:03] <TheMightyBuzzard> erm, not sure exactly. have to look at the cron job notation in the script. thought it was a tad after midnight GMT
[04:31:50] <TheMightyBuzzard> like ten or fifteen minutes
[04:32:01] <paulej72> I am reqirting the mod docs so it would be nice to have the info. I’ll look it up.

[13:21:09] <paulej72> getting some more done today
[13:24:55] <paulej72> TheMightyBuzzard: does the act of mod banning a user remove their current mod points?
[13:25:02] <TheMightyBuzzard> mornin
[13:25:07] <paulej72> morning
[13:25:40] <TheMightyBuzzard> i think so but it wouldn't matter on account of the mod ui bits won't show if they're banned
[13:26:12] <TheMightyBuzzard> if it doesn't, it should.
[13:26:20] <paulej72> Except for the moderation slashbox
[13:26:24] <TheMightyBuzzard> nod nod
[13:26:34] <paulej72> does not have that check yet :)
[13:27:17] <TheMightyBuzzard> whatcha think, put the check for mod banned in for that bit of the ui or set points to zero?
[13:27:18] <paulej72> OK the moderation UI on comments is blocked
[13:27:51] <paulej72> I’ll put the check for mod_banned in that UI,

[13:43:01] <TheMightyBuzzard> okay, so, I'm thinking we can move mail off bery onto boron fairly easily and that's basically all the services page is showing it uses. there's one server freed up.
[13:59:26] <TheMightyBuzzard> personally, i think we should be able to get by with six servers, maybe seven if we count oxygen and keep it. 5/6 if we can manage to move the slave db off of neon.
[14:05:52] <TheMightyBuzzard> fluorine, helium, boron, lithium, <whatever we're running the staff instance of slash on>, and oxygen
[14:09:32] <TheMightyBuzzard> gives us a web frontend, a db backend, staff, dev, test, and backup
[14:10:11] <TheMightyBuzzard> most of the non-critical side-services like irc could be run off staff or test with little to no impact.
