[18:55:40] <TheMightyBuzzard> and *shudders* 3.2% alcohol limit on beer sold outside liquor stores.
[18:55:09] <TheMightyBuzzard> oklahoma even has laws like if you make your booze available to one store/liquor store, you have to make it available to all of them in equal quantities.
[18:53:15] <Blackmoore> fine i just label it "barly wine"
[18:52:38] <TheMightyBuzzard> laws and common sense have no acquaintance whatsoever.
[18:52:15] <Blackmoore> that's what i thought - I'm kinda confused that they CAN handle wine.
[18:51:37] <TheMightyBuzzard> Blackmoore, couldn't. too many laws prohibiting interstate sale of beer to individuals.
[18:51:06] <Blackmoore> TheMightyBuzzard: well I figure if i make the beer and label it as Soylentbeer i have to sell it throu the online store..
[18:50:53] <stderr> There was also the idiots claiming Spielberg killed a dinosaur.

[18:39:05] <Blackmoore> eh, it's too good to let sit around
[18:37:00] <TheMightyBuzzard> nod nod. best results i've had are using champagne yeast and apple juice in place of water. it is a damn shame i drank it all.
[18:33:59] <Blackmoore> yeah, but mead really shouldnt taste like bread. beer can..
[18:29:48] <TheMightyBuzzard> course any yeast will technically work, even natural or baking.
[18:27:35] <Blackmoore> *nod* yeah.
[18:25:55] <TheMightyBuzzard> i recommend champagne yeast. less yeasty taste, more room for the honey and other flavors.
[18:24:23] <Blackmoore> hmm. well. I ought to give it a shot. i have the equpiment just need honey.
[18:23:17] <TheMightyBuzzard> yeah, sulfates.

[18:21:44] <TheMightyBuzzard> hrm... well as long as you can keep the bacteria out in the primary fermentation, you should have no issues with that. maybe using sulfides if you're especially riddled with the stuff.

[18:15:01] <TK> You would have to leave some of the dead yeast in every bottle
[18:14:36] <TheMightyBuzzard> speaking of, i should start something new up. maybe an elderberry mead.
[18:11:51] <TheMightyBuzzard> i'm rigged for wines and ciders, not much of a stretch to move to beer. biggest hurdle is the new bottling kit.
[18:11:15] <Blackmoore> I know a few brewers; this shouldnt be to hard to pull off.. :P
[18:11:15] <TheMightyBuzzard> bingo
[18:11:06] <LaminatorX> "Lagernator xXx"
[18:10:12] <Blackmoore> and I think we'll call #3 the seg_fault. it wount be much of a beer, and more a moonshine.

[18:08:52] <TheMightyBuzzard> lotsa hopps in that one then
[18:08:31] <Blackmoore> and another we'll just call Beta, which will be a beer that wasn't well thought out, released before it was ready, and bitter.

[15:28:12] <Blackmoore> I miss the wandering and the mining.
[15:27:51] <Blackmoore> I was playing "Agrarian skies" modded skyblock. I like the quest system, but after a while it just gets repetitive. (make, submit, repeat) but that's no fault of the quest mod, just the quests put in by the person who set it up.
[15:24:46] <TheMightyBuzzard> i'm running the latest snapshot at the moment. got tired of waiting on new block types in 1.8
[15:23:32] <Blackmoore> once i get that to a happy place (two of the mods i'm waiting on have worldgen additions) then I can work on the whole "release" part - and set up on linode.
[15:21:41] <Blackmoore> I am closing in on getting a modded MC pack together under 1.7.10 there are a few mods we are waiting on before we can do a prerelease. (but i have enough that i can start testing)

[05:20:31] <juggs> Seems wise.
[05:17:40] <arti> is the act of collecting leftover crops from farmers' fields after they have been commercially harvested or on fields where it is not economically profitable to harvest. Some ancient cultures promoted gleaning as an early form of a welfare system.

[05:09:15] <juggs> I found one big house that has an old cook's hidden garden that the current owners completely ignore - they have a fig vine that drops ~200 ripe figs a year strung up on a south facing wall. These people were just letting them drop and rot on the floor. That's madness. So now I wonder around with fig stained hands for about a month each year :D

[04:57:48] <chromas_> (apple computer)--
[04:56:40] <juggs> uch, I'm sounding like bear grylls. I'm not, I just go out and bug people for the fruit from their trees that they are wasting and turn it into yummy things. I give them back some frozen pies or crumbles they can use during the winter and slash my own supermarket fresh produce bills. It's win / win / everyone is happy :D
[04:52:40] <juggs> even just boiled a while without sugar they become more palatable.
[04:51:30] <juggs> for sure, but in a pinch it will do :D
[04:49:31] <pbnjoe> yeah it's not an apple to sustain yourself off of
[04:49:07] <juggs> I suppose so pbnjoe, if one likes that ~nibble~ ~pucker up sourface~ experience. I think eating more than few raw would lead to some interesting after effects.
[04:47:46] <crutchy> ooh i like sour. we have little green apples that are sour
[04:47:38] <pbnjoe> though yes, be prepared for the sourness
[04:47:28] <pbnjoe> they're ok for straight off the tree if you nibble em
[04:46:43] <juggs> crabapples are a small apple variety with a great flavour once rendered to a jelly with a heap of sugar and some pectin - they're not the kind of apple you just yank off a tree and eat, way too sour for that. No doubt they have a different name in other languages.

[04:37:41] <juggs> I have a few apple and crab-apple trees in the vicinity too - their owners do nothing with their fruit and are happy to let me harvest them. I don't understand these people, they have apple trees yet still buy apples from the supermarket and leave their own apples to rot on the floor. I suspect they think the odd bit of scab or a wasp stab hole in a fruit will kill them or something. Oh well, good for me :D
