[12:42:55] <TheMightyBuzzard> Bytram, rss color bot is finalized unless you notice a bug
[13:44:12] <Bytram> testing a URL
[13:44:14] <Bytram> https://www.ebay.com
[13:44:15] <systemd> ^ 0310 x HOT Exxtreme Power Caps for pure power Man Libido Potency Pills Men for Him
[13:44:27] <Bytram> it worked :)
[13:47:26] <Bytram> TheMightyBuzzard: Thanks so much for colorizing feed names; I *really* like it!
[13:47:48] <Bytram> I've noticed two things, and I suspect one of them is on my end.\
[13:49:50] <Bytram> 1.) when I close HexChat, and then start it again, colorization disappears from prior content. Subsequent to restart, all is cool during *that* session. It's the *prior* sessions that return to simple text.
[13:51:38] <Bytram> 2.) Now that feed names are clearly distinct, I've noticed that leaves two "fields" looking the same: a.) the title text for the item, and b.) the URL for the item.
[13:53:28] <Bytram> doing some quick examination of my log files suggests an approach that should be relatively easy to implement and I think would be effective: Italicize URLs...
[13:55:41] <Bytram> match pattern: http[s]?[^[:space:]]*
[13:57:07] <Bytram> wrap each occurrence with ${italics_on} and ${italics_off} (whatever those codes are)
[13:59:52] <Bytram> the most I have seen is 4 URLs in one #rss-bot entry
[14:00:22] <Bytram> the longest was the ebay link posted just above.
[14:00:52] <Bytram> thoughts? Anything I didn't think of?
[14:12:05] <Bytram> afk; biab
[15:11:14] <Bytram> note to self: Just did (on Dewey; E6410-001): (1) sudo apt update (2) apt list --upgradable (3) sudo apt upgrade (4) seemed to work okay
[15:18:04] * Bytram just discovered that snap packages autoupdate !??!!!
[19:32:11] <chromas> Why don't you have urls set to be stylized like a normal person? :)
