[02:16:45] <Bytram> Guys, a couple things: (1) Please update meeting time to include a US time (one of: ET, CT, MT, or PT) *much* easier having one of those to work from. FWIW, I prefer EST (2) I have a dental appointment Thurs PM. (3) It *might* be possible to here in time for the meeting, but no promises.
[02:30:57] <chromas> Hopefully you get done with your Thursday appointment before Wednesday
[02:31:37] <chromas> Or is Thurs meant to be three?
[02:33:19] <Bytram> The USA times are stable, compared to, say, France which does not consistently match times in the USA
[02:36:21] <Bytram> Spring forward / fall back? FRA not consistent with GB nor USA. Eas
[02:42:45] <Bytram> Spring forward / fall back? FRA was not consistent with GB nor USA.
[02:45:26] <chromas> Government Gaslight Time

[10:03:31] <Ingar> isn't it USA DST not matching with the rest fo the world any more ?
[11:15:01] <janrinok> Bytram - the whole of Europe is consistent - we all change our clocks in exactly the same way at exactly the same time. Even the UK changes clocks at the same time as Europe. You have timezones - we have timezones. UK is currently UTC, whereas Russia (also in Europe!) is UTC+3. Any computer can tell you how to convert timezones.
[11:15:35] <janrinok> The world basis for time is UTC - not somewhere in the USA.
[12:24:19] <Ingar> now if only they would actually abandond that ucckign DST
[12:24:31] <Ingar> *abandon that fucking DST
[12:35:22] <janrinok> I agree!
[12:46:22] <fab23> will solve als time zone problems :) -> https://xkcd.com
[12:46:28] <fab23> s/als/all/

[14:14:33] <Ingar> TAI forever

[20:30:04] <cmn32480> I have to pick up a child at meeting time and will be 10-15 late.
[20:45:47] <requerdanos> I am unable to attend today due to illness (temp of 102.5F/39.2C) and additionally regret the late notice. I tried but I am not going to be able to sit up in the darned chair.

[21:15:06] <cmn32480> I'm back... but sounds liek we got nearly nobody
[21:16:53] <Fnord666> It does indeed.
[21:18:23] <cmn32480> OK. I'd say we reconvene after New Years.
[21:22:15] <Fnord666> Agreed
[21:22:19] <Fnord666> Thanks.
[21:45:57] -!- aristarchus has quit [Quit: Client closed]
[22:01:48] <Bytram> Here!
[22:08:53] <Bytram> Drat! (And other much stronger expletives!) I specifically set my alarm so I would be on time... and I am an hour late!
[22:40:07] <Bytram> janrinok: If I understand correctly, Europe is consistent on the date that it enter/exit DST, right? I know that there are some exceptions, but for the most part, all of the USA enters/exits DST on the same date. Do Europe and USA enter/exit DST on the SAME DATES? I do not think so, and that disparity is the source of my confusion?
