[18:38:35] <Runaway1956> Maybe I need to go through my list of news feeds
[18:39:28] <Runaway1956> The most interesting "tech" news I've seen in recent days is "how to install Foo application on Bar OS" and I just can't bring myself to submit that kind of drivel
[18:45:09] <janrinok> thanks for refraining! Do you use an RSS reader and, if so, which one. I can let you have a copy of my feeds if we can find a compatible format. I use Liferea, and the data is in .opml format. Of course, easier still is to use the #rss-bot channel. That usually gives me a couple of hundred potential stories each day but I can quickly whittle that down to about 20 or so.
[18:47:33] <janrinok> Arthur sits on my server in the cellar (sort of French equivalent to Mom's basement - but more wine) and scans rss-bot several times each day. So if things get a bit thin in the queues I can go pull a few stories out of Arthur's hat when i need them.
[18:49:01] <janrinok> RSS feeds are getting more scarce as time goes by - they haven't found a way of monetizing them so they prefer to go to web pages and js so that at least you have to look at the adverts.
[18:49:38] <janrinok> Runaway1956, ^^^
[19:01:42] <janrinok> My weekend starts here - time for an alcoholic drink......
[20:02:29] <Runaway1956> Liferea is what I use
[20:02:38] <Runaway1956> enjoy your weekend!
[20:02:43] <Runaway1956> Oh, wait!
[20:02:53] <Runaway1956> Haven't you already had a weekend this month?
