[03:36:09] * chromas busts a nught
[03:45:01] <chromas> hm, interesting
[03:45:32] <chromas> the Jupiter Moon generated relative href so the link ends up pointing to sn
[03:45:55] <chromas> I's pretty sure I had a fix for that due to CNET years ago
[03:51:23] <chromas> hm, now did totally-not-ari intend for his comment to be a comment or a dept.?

[11:43:36] <Bytram> chromas: I'm under-caffeinated atm, but it would help if you provided a link to what you are talking about here. =)
[12:08:52] <chromas> TheMightyChickadee's botsub from this channel a few hours ago about "Surface of Jupiter's Moon Europa"
[13:18:30] <Bytram> chromas: Ah, got it!
[13:19:53] <Bytram> As for "hm, now did totally-not-ari intend for his comment to be a comment or a dept.?" Plain text is supposed to go straight into the submission, right?
[13:20:14] * Bytram doesn't see why there should be any confusion.
[13:21:10] <chromas> sometimes people suggest a dept. in the text
[13:34:41] <Bytram> chromas: yes, agreed. so why the apparent surprise at seeing "it's the cracks, mostly" in the story submission; that's how I'd expect someone to submit text they wanted to see appear in the submission
[13:35:40] <chromas> because it could be intended to go into the dept. field or be part of the sub body as a comment
[13:41:16] <Bytram> oh, just plain text. yep. Leaving it up to the editors to decide what, if anything, we want to do with it.
[13:42:19] <Bytram> Personally, when doing a bot sub, I phrase plain text like: "From the this-and-that dept." to make it clear.
[13:43:01] <Bytram> IOW, there is opportunity for ambiguity which leads to GIGO
[13:43:11] <Bytram> break time
