[10:04:10] <systemd> ^ 03Update: Tucson copter cop says mysterious, 'sophisticated' super-drone 'like no other' - DroneDJ
[10:04:49] <janrinok> Bytram, I lost power due to the building works being completed nearby just after I posted my first story this morning. The power has just come back on. I'll leave you with the drone story and I will do another after I have eaten my lunch.
[10:05:18] <Bytram> glad you got power back!
[10:06:15] <janrinok> thx - so am I! I had no excuses left for avoiding the gardening and outdoor tasks that are still to be done....
[10:09:41] <Bytram> two nights ago, my UPS kicked in at least 6 times (and about 2-4 minutes apart) -- complete with alarm -- starting at about 12:30 AM. It was not protecting anything critical, so I finally gave in: turned off UPS and finally got back to sleep! Turned it back on when I got up in AM and all was (finally) fine!
[10:11:22] <Bytram> Also, systemd went on hiatus about 8-10 hours ago; I see it's back this AM. =)
[10:11:49] <Bytram> I'll slot drone story in after bilingual
[10:14:10] <janrinok> understood, but the power cut took out my broadband connection, router etc so having my machine on an UPS wouldn't have helped me much today.
[10:15:09] <chromas> Bytram killed it, btw
[10:15:17] <Bytram> drone story: had to "view source" on each paragraph and then "copied source" and then removed excess Anchor attributes. :( Tedious, but I think I got it!
[10:15:36] <chromas> Bytram: select the text, then right-click, view selection source
[10:15:49] <chromas> or use the phpoo script
[10:16:49] <Bytram> chromas: btw systemd had a system before it died: took ~30 minutes to respond (in #soylent IIRC) to a =submit request
[10:17:39] <Bytram> yes, select + view-source, that's what I did.
[10:18:40] <janrinok> Bytram, you will have noticed that I moved your draft Meta to tomorrow. I only found one error (indicated as requested) and it looks OK to me.
[10:18:55] <Bytram> That was after trying: https://zeroindex.org with https://www.thedrive.com

[10:18:56] <systemd> ^ 03Police Helicopter Crew Says Mysterious Craft They Chased Was “Not Like Any Other” Drone
[10:19:12] <janrinok> it was just easier than trying to calculate time around it
[10:19:48] <Bytram> both upstart and storybot did NOT like it!
[10:19:50] * chromas can't find systemd's system in the chat log
[10:19:57] <Bytram> janrinok++ thank you!
[10:19:57] <Bender> karma - janrinok: 111
[10:20:24] <chromas> Bytram: Did you try newscat?
[10:21:41] <Bytram> yes, but that only gave me plain txt, which I already had from the story sub
[10:22:06] <chromas> that's all you need
[10:22:50] <janrinok> lol - chromas probably has a routine that processes tablets of stone too
[10:23:25] <janrinok> and there is something amiss when software is called new scat!
[10:33:06] <chromas> well you don't even want to mess with the old scat
[10:34:28] <Bytram> chromas: old scat was the only on that worked! Found systemd demise in my lots; will PM them to you
[10:34:45] <chromas> your sub is the one that killed it :D
[10:41:36] <Bytram> nope, if I read things correctly, that honor goes to AZ!
[10:42:33] * Bytram finally hits [submit] on drone story... was distracted

[11:07:07] * Bytram 2nds bilingual

[11:29:39] <janrinok> Bytram, you got the timing all cocked up on the drone story and the Bilingual story - but as they have both been released I'll leave them as they are.
[11:30:16] <Bytram> ???
[11:30:17] <Bytram> =blame
[11:30:17] * systemd points at Bytram
[11:31:19] <janrinok> less than an hour between them both :¬)
[11:31:23] <Bytram> ugh UTC vs lcl time -- my bad, but I can still fix
[11:31:35] <janrinok> they've both been released
[11:34:07] <Bytram> hmmm, postpone language tradeoff to next slot... then change release time for Drone to take place of vacated language story
[11:35:30] <Bytram> what was released is still released, and what had not been released stays that way, too. =)
[11:36:09] <Bytram> janrinok: on it now
[11:36:41] <janrinok> lol - I wouldn't bother. Just put a longer delay in before the next story goes out and I'll bet nobody else notices
[11:37:11] <janrinok> ... or leave it as it is and call it a bonus story
[11:37:49] <Bytram> drone already moved =)
[11:40:54] <Bytram> good that I did... journal reference was still in "Intro Copy"; am moving to end of "Extended Copy" =)
[11:41:00] <Bytram> teamwork++
[11:41:00] <Bender> karma - teamwork: 294
[11:44:55] <janrinok> That's something that has been puzzling me recently - I've seen the DOI and Cite being left in either part by different editors. Have we agreed (and documented?) a standard?
[11:45:30] <Bytram> Looking closer, Fair Use in the USA suggests we cannot retain that much of the source story -- gonna trim extended copy a bunch
[11:48:07] <Bytram> phone call
