[00:05:46] <chromas> Nah there's some theriouth bug in it
[00:05:58] <chromas> I'm running it with limited memory and it's dying a lot
[00:06:05] <chromas> Not sure who's eating it all though
[00:06:44] <chromas> 640M ought to be enough for anyboty
[00:08:04] <Bytram> hmmm
[00:08:58] <Bytram> do you have any logging or monitoring in place?
[00:10:25] <Bytram> Maybe add a meta-bot that periodically logs systems's process size with timestamps.
[00:11:49] <Bytram> With time-stamped logging within systemd of each request it processes... and each major "routine" it invokes?
[00:12:02] <Bytram> Need moah data!
[00:16:42] <chromas> For some reason systemd isn't capturing the debug output
[00:16:49] <chromas> and the failure message is totally helpful
[00:17:01] <chromas> "Failed with result 'signal'."
[00:19:20] <Bytram> urk
[00:19:38] <Bytram> It's written in "D"?
[00:20:39] <Bytram> "not capturing debug output"... are those cached writes that don't actually complete getting written to disk?
[00:21:08] <Bytram> Is there a flag to turn async writes into synchronous writes?
[00:21:26] <Bytram> or a command to flush buffers for a process?
[00:21:32] <Bytram> brb
[00:25:08] <chromas> it's all systemd's fault. It captures all stdout/stderr and logs it but for some reason its' not collecting any exception output
[00:25:20] <chromas> or maybe it's just being killed off before it can output
[00:26:01] <chromas> Someone should come up with the idea to just tell the process "no more memory" instead of letting it thrash the box or just killing it off
[00:26:58] * chromas is a stable jenius and knows more about it than the people who implemented it
[00:27:47] <Bytram> sounds like someone who'd excel at software test and QA :D
[00:28:20] <Bytram> stable jenious... you work in a... barn?
[00:28:35] <chromas> I'd probably find all the bugs that weren't there ;)
[00:30:26] <chromas> and yeah; we refer to it as horsing around
[00:30:53] <Bytram> weren't there... yet! It was just waiting for the correct set of user and system inputs!
[00:33:12] <chromas> fuzzy illogic
[00:34:44] <Bytram> btw, while you're here... thanks SO MUCh for the SIX!!1! stories you pushed out yesterday!
[00:36:22] <chromas> You're welcome. It was super hard works and I'm gonna have to take the next three months off
[00:37:54] <Bytram> I know what you mean! I've only posted 9,000 stories. I'uch a slacker, eh?
