[00:20:13] <systemd> Thanks for submitting this story. It appears that no editor has yet selected this story to be run. At least a week has passed since the story was submitted, and if an editor was going to have selected it, they would likely have done so by now. It has, therefore, been removed from the submission queue.

[01:31:26] * Bytram starts 2nding stories
[01:31:32] <Bytram> AzumaHazuki: How you be?
[01:31:41] <AzumaHazuki> sorry i haven't done literally any editing at all whatsoever. i'm tired
[01:31:49] <AzumaHazuki> something is wrong. i don't sleep enough but am always tired
[01:31:52] <Bytram> understood!
[01:32:06] <Bytram> What yo are doing IRL is far more important than this sit
[01:32:18] <Bytram> *site
[01:32:43] <Bytram> don't sleep enough and you are tired... and you are surprised by that?
[01:33:01] <AzumaHazuki> i do want to help...though, will be honest, i am really disappointed with the amount of shitposting trolls and sociopaths we have
[01:33:31] <Bytram> I just an idea....
[01:33:54] <Bytram> Stream of consciousness, so take it for what it's worth
[01:35:55] <Bytram> if you really want to help with the stories, pick one from the submissions list from one of the bots (exec, upstart or Arthur*), MENTION HERE THAT YOU ARE DING THIS! Rewrite it so it is suitable for the site, and submit that back into the story queue.
[01:36:17] <AzumaHazuki> oooh, interesting idea
[01:36:45] <Bytram> I take it you've seen enough stories on the site to have a good idea of what the basic, desired format is, right?
[01:37:08] <Bytram> Can't go wrong trying to mimic takyon.
[01:38:07] <Bytram> did I ever give you links to docs on the Wiki for site editing guidelines and all that? I *think* I did, but not certain.
[01:38:55] <AzumaHazuki> yes :) i bookmarked them
[01:41:10] <Bytram> The main thing, is to be unbiased in our presentation. This is speaking for the *site*. What's in the comments, that's on them. In the journals, that's on the community members, too. What appears on the main page -- that is completely different and has the whole of SoylentNews potentially liable. As in libel and that ilk.
[01:41:31] <Bytram> Even the hint of a lawsuit, if we have to hire a lawyer, we're broke. and gone.
[01:43:36] <Bytram> AzumaHazuki: Is That Clear? Any Questions At All? We CANNOT risk the site by pushing any kind of agenda or potentially libelous statement. Then, too, there is Fair Use whose guideilnes are ... cast in smoke. There's no bright line, between safe and bad, so we need to keep as far away from possible infringement as possible.
[01:44:10] <AzumaHazuki> oh yes. i'm going to be a boring editor, dryer than three day old baked beans on toast over a radiator
[01:44:24] <Bytram> boring is GOOD!
[01:44:38] <AzumaHazuki> yeah, I'm saving all the piss and vinegar for comments
[01:45:06] <AzumaHazuki> we really do have some awful fucking people on here. i will be honest, there are times i wonder if the best thing to happen to SN would be its destruction
[01:45:15] <Bytram> Now, we are free to have fun with the language in so much as puns and humor (not at anyone's expense except for one's own, of course) and then there's the dept line.
[01:46:49] <Bytram> Yes, I've noted your mentioning that here a few times. Quite frankly, that gives me concern which I've heard expressed by other editors, as well. So, consider it a short leash for an indeterminate period of time. Actions speak louder than words, so let's see what the actions say, eh?
