[13:30:53] <Bytram> okaaaay.
[13:31:37] <Bytram> My manager has been on vacation and returns to work on Tuesday.
[13:32:32] <Bytram> Our team leader moved out of state about 10 days ago.
[13:34:17] <Bytram> The other fulltimer in my dept started vacation Last friday and won't be back to work until a week from tomorrow.
[13:34:54] <Bytram> A part-timer's Mother-in-law had been in hospice and passed away yesterday.
[13:36:30] <Bytram> Another part-timer just sent out a text that she's feeling very dizzy (sometimes happens for her - early-in-life head injury) and does not feel safe to drive, never mind work.
[13:37:12] <Bytram> And the other part-timer is scheduled to work today, and so far as we know, is working today.
[13:37:31] <Bytram> And that leaves me, who was scheduled to have today off...
[13:38:13] <Bytram> And, therefore, not totally unexpectedly, 30 minutes after the text message went out, I got a phone call asking if I can come in to work today.
[13:39:11] <Bytram> Yeah, I'm the only full-timer in the dept for 4 days in a row.
[13:42:09] <Bytram> Oh, and we have a regional manager visit coming up this friday.
[13:48:55] <janrinok> Bytram, what are you doing wasting time on here - your bosses need you. How can they make a profit if they can make you work 8 days a week (cue Beatles song track in the background) and as a result you are actually sleeping? This is very disrespectful of you to expect such luxuries and you should only sleep in your time off - which is clearly not today! ;)
[13:49:10] <Bytram> ROFL!
[13:49:12] <janrinok> *if the can't
[13:49:41] <janrinok> hows it going - although I suspect I already know the answer
[13:50:37] <Bytram> There *is* one other part-timer from another dept they are going to bring in to help close the dept. tonight, so when I was asked to come in, it was not necessarily for a full 8-hour shift, but 4-5 hours would be *very* much appreciated.
[13:51:17] <janrinok> there you go again - not thinking of your boss' take home pay at all, are you?
[13:51:32] <Bytram> On a positive not, though I woke up 3 times last night, finally got a full night's sleep last night, though were there no other things for me to do today, I suspect I could have gone back to bed and slept another 2-3 hours.
[13:51:42] <janrinok> I hope that you do not have to work too long today.
[13:52:16] <Bytram> Well, the less I work, the less they will have to pay me! Jeesh! Do I have to explain *everything* ?? =)
[13:52:30] <janrinok> good point!
[13:52:45] <Bytram> But seriously, I'm doing pretty well, all-in-all. How are YOU doing?
[14:06:42] <Bytram> break time
[14:09:52] <janrinok> I'm tired and had a bad day on Friday - but I get a weeks rest at the end of this month so I'm looking forward to that. So I'm spending more time sitting at my computer than doing many of the other tasks that need doing outside the house. The weather is not really suitable for tree felling, hedge trimming or garden landscaping anyway.
[14:38:14] <Bytram> Sorry to hear you are tired, but maybe the poor weather is just the reason you need to take a break and take care of yourself? I can attest that a full night's sleep (aka rest) makes a *huge* difference!
[14:39:02] <Bytram> Just pushed out a story so we are now covered through daytime in the USA.
[14:39:41] <Bytram> If all goes well, I should be back in no more than 8 or 9 hours.
[14:40:43] <Bytram> ~eds ^^^ Please read backscroll. Anything you can do to push out even one story (JR: Not you! Take a break!) would mean a *lot*!
