[13:23:25] <Bytram> FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: SELECT col FROM table GROUP BY col HAVING COUNT(*) > 1 ;
[13:24:39] <janrinok> funny thing I found in the documentation that I _do_ have. Editors (authors) should have a minimum seclev of 10000 to get the most out of the editing facilities...
[13:38:20] <Bytram> I appreciate the sentiment, but I disagree. Editors are fully capable of processing stories with seclev = 100. There are some cases where seclev = 500 or seclev = 1000 would be useful (like updating templates or slashbox-es), but (based on past experience) I recommend reserving the higher seclevs for a select few. It is VERY easy to cause unintended damage to the site!
[13:48:11] <janrinok> Oh, I understand the reasoning, but I found it interesting that the original design expected authors to have such a high seclev. It hints that there are some template tricks (but doesn't explain them) which can improve story preparation but they are not essential. It also suggests that there are ways of making your template modification permanent over an update or rebuild without having to submit them via git.
[13:50:28] <Bytram> That last part sounds *very* interesting!
[13:50:36] <janrinok> each template has a master which is also already stored on the system and is easy to modify, but has a different extension to disguise it's purpose
[13:51:07] <janrinok> the master is just that - a permanent master version
[13:51:58] <Bytram> I have a few live changes in place on the system that need to be reviewed and made permanent
[13:53:30] <janrinok> If I stumble upon a more complete guide or description I will pass it your way, although it is not something I am currently searching for.
[13:54:52] <janrinok> I think I recall them having html ext but my aged brain is like a conveyor belt - one new fact in and one old fact falls off the back end....
