[08:17:04] <janrinok> Which of our topics would you say they belong in?
[08:17:57] * janrinok is looking for a 'bin' topic
[08:19:34] <sylvest> Still not communicating with the community, eh, janrinok?
[08:20:15] <sylvest> Twitter is very STEM, as in stemming the rise of Fascism

[08:45:19] <sylvest> Seems to be a backlog of coverage of the alt-right on SN.
[08:47:07] <janrinok> not seen in the submission queue? I did ask if you were looking....
[08:47:47] <janrinok> There is only 1 in there from you and that is a Dupe anyway.
[08:48:42] <janrinok> dated May 28
[08:51:26] <sylvest> Like I said, a backlog, or a blindspot, on covering this sort of thing on SN. Almost like it was intentionally being suppressed.
[08:52:01] <janrinok> Which Topic do you suggest they should be under?
[08:54:12] <sylvest> You want ME to do your job for you? No wonder this place is shutting down.
[08:57:34] <janrinok> =SUBMIT https://www.bbc.co.uk
[08:57:37] <systemd> ✓ Sub-ccess! "03US Moves to Block Microsoft's Activision Takeover" (15p) -> https://soylentnews.org
[08:58:41] <sylvest> And let me understand: it takes three editors to approve a submission, but only one to deep-six it, and we only have two functioning editors? Strange.
[08:59:22] <janrinok> we have 6 editors currently active now
[09:00:34] <janrinok> it only takes 1 editor to release a story, it takes 2 editors to do our own internally imposed checks and controls.
[09:01:47] <sylvest> But a single editor can delete a submission from the queue, if they find it ideologically unacceptable?
[09:03:42] <chromas> we also don't have stories about dragons and farts but I don't see you complaining about fart suppression
[09:04:22] <janrinok> It is nothing to do with ideology. If it not in compliance with our submission rules then it can be deleted. There are lots of things that fall into this category - commercial, CP, doxxing, etc
[09:05:51] <janrinok> If within the rules then every editor has a chance to process the submission, If 3 or more formally reject it (they leave a comment indicating such) then it can be deleted.
[09:06:44] <janrinok> dragons, farts, recipes, cross-stitching patterns are also unacceptable
[09:07:48] <sylvest> You forgot the Alt-right, and criticisms of the staff at SN. But none of that matters anymore. The end of the month is getting closer
[09:09:17] <janrinok> they are not submissions if they do not comply with the submission guidelines
[09:09:57] <janrinok> This site will still be here - I may not be, you will be pleased to know.
[09:10:16] <janrinok> but it might...
[09:26:11] <sylvest> So, no stories about Twitter. Got it.
[09:29:11] <janrinok> No stories about politics being discussed on twitter - stories about Twitter as a business are perfectly acceptable.
[09:29:35] -!- sylvest has quit [Quit: Leaving]
[09:30:02] <janrinok> we are not interested in the content of tweets unless they are relevant to one of our topics.
[09:30:43] <janrinok> put them in your journal - oh, right, yeah....
