[09:36:01] <AzumaHazuki> IMO the eds aren't ever going to let your subs in unless they're completely anodyne
[09:36:21] <AzumaHazuki> you've kinda ruined your brand :/ which sucks because i've seen some seriously high-level thinking from you
[09:41:22] <aristarchus> It all began with TMB objecting to being painted with an alt-right brush. But it has to be done. My brand is just fine! Although some think I am a cultural Marxist, some think I am Q.
[09:45:25] <AzumaHazuki> ari...this site may be on its last legs. if things get intolerable, screenshot and save copies of posts from people like runaway and alert the FBI, DHS, etc
[09:45:45] <AzumaHazuki> assuming no one's done that already of course
[09:49:46] <aristarchus> Being much, much older, I am more optimistic. Only a couple more weeks. Later.

[16:46:31] <chromas> One way he could get his subs posted is to do ones that are topical but that's probably too much work
[17:12:43] <Fnord666> Or, you know, read the submission guidelines and at least make an effort.
[17:15:08] <carny> it's going to be interesting when she finally follows up on her threats and people involved with soylentnews start getting visits from fbi agents

[22:59:16] <Bytram_dewey> AzumaHazuki: I so sooner finished processing your sub and pushing it out into the story queue, that I found someone else submitted a story that cited a *different* paper in Science. So, trying to do a "late merge".

[23:13:12] <AzumaHazuki> i did just submit a neuropilin story
[23:26:43] <Bytram_dewey> yes, reread what I wrote. I had already processed YOUR story, and saw another sub on neurophilin, so was doing a late merge of this new arrivat to your already-processed submission. :D

[23:48:48] <Bytram_dewey> AzumaHazuki: np! How's the new jop working(heh!) out?
[23:48:53] <Bytram_dewey> s/p/
[23:48:53] * SedBot offers Bitrum_duwey a /
[23:49:08] <AzumaHazuki> it's wonderful. i missed inpatient so, so much
[23:49:19] <Bytram_dewey> yeah, guess I *am* tired
[23:49:22] <AzumaHazuki> i'm apparently also the single fastest learner anyone in 30+ years has seen oO
[23:49:28] <Bytram_dewey> Yay!
[23:50:11] <Bytram_dewey> imagine... does that mean you'd be twice as fast if you were... married?
[23:50:18] <Bytram_dewey> (i.e. not single)
[23:50:25] <Bytram_dewey> ;)
[23:51:04] <AzumaHazuki> well...i was never worried about the technical end of this. it was the people part that scared me. but apparently i'm way less awkward than i thought
[23:51:09] <AzumaHazuki> or just a good actor?
[23:51:49] <Bytram_dewey> AzumaHazuki: Quick question for ya, if I may? I realized yesterday pm that I'd stopped taking vitamin C supplement for several days. too 3x 500 mg tablets.
[23:53:26] <Bytram_dewey> Woke up around 2 am with pretty heavy case of the runs. :/ complicating factor is that I went out for Chinese food that afternoon (first time in close to a month) and tried a new dish (nooles in spicy peanut-butter sauce)
[23:54:59] <AzumaHazuki> that will do it. Confucious says: the man who stands on his toilet may truly be said to be "high on pot"
[23:55:04] <Bytram_dewey> So, I'm wondering if I might have had a mild case of food poisoning... or too much vitamin C... or something from *both* column A and column B?
[23:55:36] <AzumaHazuki> overdoses of oral vitamin C can give you the squits, yes, but i'd be more inclined to blame the food
[23:56:56] <Bytram_dewey> in the back of my mind was that it could also be covid, but that seemed like a much smaller likelihood compared to the food/C options.
[23:57:37] <AzumaHazuki> can you smell and taste okay?
[23:58:30] <Bytram_dewey> I've eaten at the Chinese food place many times over the past 15+ years, so ordinarily would rule them out. OTOH, covid has really cut their business, so I could see them holding onto stuff longer and exceed a best-used-by-date
[23:59:41] <Bytram_dewey> (serveral times per year, and I'm friends with the owner who has confided times have been hard)
