[04:52:07] <Bytram> that's gonna have to do it for me; have a great night everybody!
[04:52:14] <AzumaHazuki> o/
[04:52:44] <Bytram> AzumaHazuki: hey! how's the job thing going? Any further word?
[04:53:13] <AzumaHazuki> interview on 11 sept
[04:53:59] <Bytram> not the most auspicious day, eh? Here's wishing you the best of luck!
[04:54:11] <AzumaHazuki> thanks, i'll fucking need it
[04:54:18] * AzumaHazuki haaaaates interviews
[04:54:49] <Bytram> oh, fwiw, it seems the antibiotic is starting to work. I've got my fingers crossed!
[04:55:37] <AzumaHazuki> good!
[04:58:59] <Bytram> look at it this way, it's a chance for you to find out if it is a place that YOU want to work at. Also, let your knowledge and work ethic work to your advantage; simply listing your accomplishments can go a long way. Have a desire to learn more -- do they have tuition re-imbursement? (Doesn't matter if you intend to take advange of it right away) just asking can be a good sign. Right?
[05:00:38] <AzumaHazuki> yeah
[05:00:41] <Bytram> I don't think you're that good at being that bad... know what I mean? Like that test you took... in <10 minutes.
[05:00:55] <AzumaHazuki> i'm sure i'll do fine at this, and they actually seem a little desperate
[05:01:21] <Bytram> that's a MUCH better attitude!
[05:01:55] <Bytram> so, maybe, ask them why are they trying to fill the position? what happened to the last person?
[05:02:28] <AzumaHazuki> er...may not be wise
[05:02:36] <Bytram> IOW avoid: frying pan --> fire
[05:03:01] <AzumaHazuki> hey, it's consistent night shift doing inpatient...i've had it with retail
[05:03:57] <Bytram> you know better than I do. Just trying to offer an outside perspective. And showing you that you know more thank you think you do!
[05:04:21] * Bytram yanks out that extr "k"
[05:04:31] <AzumaHazuki> i just hate in person interviews. i don't look demure enough or something. too tall, scary eyes, the whole thing
[05:04:47] <Bytram> stop that!
[05:05:27] <AzumaHazuki> this is stuff women have to consider, and it's almost always men doing these interviews in inpatient settings i've noticed ><
[05:07:25] <Bytram> that's one where I don't have any experience. Though I do know a heck of a lot about women's fashions -- sold suits and dresses for a couple years. I can guess height +/- 1 inch and size +/- 2 form barely more than a glance.
[05:08:10] <Bytram> I do not like not knowing what I am doing.
[05:08:51] <AzumaHazuki> oh wow
[05:09:31] <AzumaHazuki> well...one thing i learned, is keep very long hair in a braid. that whole "blowing dramatically in the wind" thing doesn't happen in real life
[05:09:33] <Bytram> okay, I can barely type atm; construction workers get going in < 6 hours... and I'm still on the mend. Best to get some shut eye before the trucks commence with their Beeeeeep Beeeeeep Beeeeeep!
[05:09:42] <AzumaHazuki> ugh, yeah
[05:09:47] <AzumaHazuki> hope you sleep well
[05:09:59] <Bytram> me too! :D
[05:12:51] <Bytram> oh, forgot to mention... women's sizes are... fluid. I've had women try on a size 8 that was too small and a size 6 that was too large. Never mind that some people are two different sizes: top vs bottom. If I may say, I'm a master of "camera-flage" :D

[18:09:56] <Bytram> whereto? WHAT IF DR. SUESS WROTE COMPUTER MANUALS!
[18:09:56] <Bytram> If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
[18:10:34] <Bytram> And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
[18:10:39] <Bytram> And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
[18:10:40] <Bytram> then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.
[18:10:42] <Bytram> If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
[18:10:44] <Bytram> And the double-clicking icons put your window in the trash,
[18:10:46] <Bytram> And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
[18:10:48] <Bytram> Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash.
[18:10:50] <Bytram> If the label on your cable on the gable at your house,
[18:10:52] <Bytram> Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
[18:10:54] <Bytram> But your packets want to tunnel to another protocol,
[18:10:57] <Bytram> That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall.
[18:10:59] <Bytram> And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss,
[18:11:01] <Bytram> So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
[18:11:02] <Bytram> Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
[18:11:05] <Bytram> 'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang.
[18:11:08] <Bytram> When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk,
[18:11:10] <Bytram> And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary RISC,
[18:11:12] <Bytram> then you have to flash your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM,
[18:11:14] <Bytram> Quickly turn off your computer and be sure to tell your mom!
[18:11:16] <Bytram> OOOPS!
[18:12:22] <Bytram> So sorry about that; somehow the copy/paste buffer did not get updated with my latest copy!!!
