[02:46:37] <chromas> Aw. I misread that as "Unexpected Blue-screen produces oil"
[03:21:59] <Bytram> site seems slow to me atm...

[03:22:19] <Bytram> Well, that was quick enough. Must be on my end.
[03:23:20] <Bytram> now it's back up to speed
[03:23:42] <Bytram> Fnord666: Good evening!
[03:24:04] <Fnord666> Howdy!

[03:26:06] <Bytram> time
[03:26:08] <Bytram> =)
[03:27:50] <Bytram> after I come out of hibernating my laptop, it seems that Pale Moon forgets what the site icons (favicon) should be for each tab... unless I go off and specifically reload that tab.
[03:48:15] <chromas> See, if you used firefox, it would just periodically reload them for no apparent reason
[03:48:57] <Fnord666> Interesting
[03:49:57] <chromas> or it might be when I mouseover the tabs
[03:53:53] <Bytram> nothing changes when I mouse over hem {
[03:54:54] * Bytram had a full day today; is heading yo bed.
[03:55:43] <Bytram> Have a great night evrybody!
[04:05:20] <Fnord666> Good night my friend. Pleasant dreams

[12:56:51] <Bytram> janrinok: I had a thought about the onslaught of incoming coronavirus stories... queue them up in the "Hold" category (Use the dropdown selector near the story on the submissions page). When the time comes to do a "release", choose the Hold category from the Classification dropdown and see them all gathered together in one view. That's the theory, but I have almost no experience using those controls. Thoughts?
[13:37:51] <janrinok> yes. that would work - I'll move them across it you wish. The important thing is not to forget about them. And other editors might not even know that the facility exists because it has been a long time since we last used it.
[13:39:37] <Bytram> nod nod
[13:39:53] <Bytram> Heh, I have an idea, but I am in the middle of pushing out a story atm.
[13:39:59] <janrinok> CoronaVirus stories now moved to the 'Hold' queue

[13:40:42] * Bytram wishes the drop down list box was actually a drop down text entry field, then we could provide custom "tags"
[14:07:11] <Bytram> janrinok: There! Take a look at https://soylentnews.org I have added text to the "Submissions List" box: Note: Coronavirus stories are under Classification "Hold"

[14:32:21] <janrinok> ~eds After discussion we have decided to move all stories related to the CoronaVirus to the 'Hold' queue. This will enable stories to be saved until the next 'RoundUp' of stories is compiled. The Hold queue is not often used and it is possible that some of you have never even noticed it, let alone used it.

[20:22:52] <aristarchus> Just curious, why have aristarchus submissions been quarantined in the Hold section with the corona virus subs? If we have established anything on SN, it is that aristarchus subs are not contagious.
[20:31:11] -!- aristarchus has quit []
[20:38:57] <Bytram> ~tell aristarchus I have no idea how those two story submissions of yours got lumped in with the coronavirus submissions in the hold queue. I reviewed the submissions, and upon confirming they were not coronavirus stories, moved them back into the main list...
[20:43:32] <Bytram> ~tell aristarchus that said (written?), be aware that we are making use of the hold queue as a means to group the CV stories together, but that DOES NOT preclude our using that category for other reasons, too. It is one of the tools the UI makes available that had, until now, gone mostly unused. As it sees greater use and we gain familiarity with it, we may very well find use of the hold queue for other purposes, and we reserve the
[20:43:32] <Bytram> right to do so at our pleasure.
