[01:39:36] <Fnord666> Evening all
[01:39:58] <chromas> g'day
[01:44:33] <Bytram> Fnord666: g'evening
[01:46:01] <Fnord666> evening chromas, Bytram
[01:47:01] * Bytram had a quiet day mostly trying to chill out and recover from 3 long and intense days of working retail around Black Friday
[01:47:18] <Bytram> and in preparation for yet another stretch of... fun.
[01:47:24] <Fnord666> Was going to ask how your version of hell week went
[01:48:41] <Bytram> came up short on BF, compared to prior years. Arrived 11pm on thursday night per usual, but unlike prior years whee I lasted until 6pm or even 8pm, this year I called it good enough at 4pm.
[01:49:45] <Bytram> had a 12-hour day on Wednesday making preparations, and only worked a bit over 10 hours on Saturday
[01:50:19] <Bytram> had one of my top sales days ever, but waiting for official results to be sure.
[01:51:27] <Fnord666> Congrats!
[01:53:09] <Bytram> and I somehow managed to push out some stories, too.
[01:54:28] <Bytram> but I'm not up to doing any more tonight. Have the morning shift, and it looks like I will be opening alone as the other employee scheduled to work with me is having some furnace work done and will not be in until later. So I have a solo opening.
[01:54:29] <Fnord666> Much appreciated! I was wondering what the queue would look like after getting back from taking my daughter back to college.
[01:55:37] <Bytram> I'm doing what I can, but it's not going to be up to my usual level for a while... probably when we finish doing inventory in mid-late January.
[01:55:46] <Fnord666> np
[01:56:16] <Bytram> So don't be surprised to see I pushed out some stories, but be careful about expecting me to.
[01:56:22] <Fnord666> Any time you have is much appreciated.
[01:57:52] <Bytram> and, with that, I will bed you all adieu
[01:57:58] <Bytram> au renoir!
[01:58:05] <Fnord666> =)
[01:58:22] <Fnord666> good night Bytram and pleasant dreams
[01:58:32] <Bytram> whereto http://feedproxy.google.com
[01:58:33] <systemd> ^ 03SpaceX Falcon 9 launch: How to watch CRS-19 mission to the space station ( https://www.cnet.com )
[01:59:39] <Bytram> see, also: https://spaceflightnow.com
[01:59:40] <systemd> ^ 03Launch Schedule – Spaceflight Now
[02:01:01] <Bytram> Apparently, that is scheduled for Dec. 4th.
[02:01:44] <Bytram> Usually, Ars Technica has a story about SpaceX launches, but just wanted to put out a heads up to expect a story on the launch around that time.
[02:01:55] <Bytram> ciao for now for sure!
[02:01:56] <Bytram> =)
[02:01:57] <Fnord666> Cool.
[02:02:03] <Fnord666> ciao!
[02:02:46] <Bytram> I don't know why it's the case, but I have been watching rocket launches for something like 50 years, and it never gets old.
[02:03:07] <Bytram> I would so love to see a rocket launch in person
[02:03:42] <Bytram> but not tonight.
[02:03:44] <Bytram> laters

[08:32:16] * janrinok notes that Bytram has surpassed himself yet again with 'au renoir'
[09:17:02] <janrinok> chromas: Not sure if you have changed upstart, but it doesn't appear to be consistently blockquoting processed text at present. The bug (if it IS a bug?) might be related to the citation contents.
[09:28:32] <chromas> fpos
[09:29:17] <chromas> Too bad I don't have old versions around to compare their output like a real person
[10:10:02] <janrinok> It's not a biggie. The layout of the citation itself could be improved but again that is not making it unusable.
[10:25:44] <chromas> I don't think it's directly the citation bit, but some other thing I changed around that time. Haven't debugged yet tho
[10:27:26] <janrinok> np - just thought I would mention it. How do you reliably detect the citation field for different sites (or should that be sighted site cites?)
[10:28:13] <chromas> at the moment it only scans for DOI strings, then tacks on the https://doi.org if needed
[10:28:14] <systemd> ^ 03Digital Object Identifier System ( https://www.doi.org )
[10:28:17] <chromas> and hits up the page
[10:28:28] <chromas> from there, many sites have info in the meta fields, but not all
[10:38:54] <janrinok> OK, I like the logic
[10:42:10] <chromas> I guess it could look up all the links just in case :D
[10:43:13] <janrinok> nah, the community do that anyway ;)
[11:20:35] <chromas> oh I noticed now there's two links to the same article in Researchers Get a First Look
[11:23:00] <chromas> two links to two articles
[11:23:09] <chromas> (each)
[12:55:36] <janrinok> lets see how many people notice
[13:10:03] <chromas> good idea. I wonder if anyone clicks or even looks at that part
