[01:34:41] <takyon> mrpg
[01:34:47] <takyon> you've skipped 12 hours there
[02:19:16] <takyon> along with the aforementioned 12 hour gap issue, this headline sounds weird to me: https://soylentnews.org
[02:19:17] <upstart> ^ 03Error
[02:19:18] <exec> └─ 13Error
[02:20:12] <takyon> I think changing "It" to "Users" fixes it
[11:57:14] <Bytram> takyon: agree with your assessment... and, Hi!!
[12:00:03] * Bytram just updated the beg-o-meter; anniversary story has garnered 7 additional subscriptions... gross income: $165.00 which netted us about $157.51
[12:00:44] <Bytram> ugh... I think I just found a bug in my tallying, and I don't have a lot of time to debug atm. :/
[12:02:45] <Bytram> thankfully, is not hard to tally manually at this point; updated figures now posted.
[20:31:03] <Notsanguine> Bytram: I reupped my subscription last night, as it expired yesterday. Howevever, my bank shows this as "pending" and the site hasn't updated my subscription info. Is the latter a manual process or does the system wait until the transaction has completed? It's not a huge deal, I'm just curious
[20:52:49] <TheMightyBuzzard> Notsanguine, the system waits for the transaction to be completed. Pending is kind of a rare thing to happen as far as payments to us go.
[20:56:00] <Notsanguine> Thanks TheMightyBuzzard. The transaction was through stripe (as I won't use the service run by those scumbags over at paypal). My bank isn't always so quick about this stuff, as they're assholes too.
[20:56:37] <Notsanguine> As I said, it's not a big deal. I was just curious about how SN handles such things.
[20:57:14] <Notsanguine> Gosh, I'm really complimentary about everyone today! Yay on me! :)
[20:57:58] <Notsanguine> As an aside, TheMightyBuzzard, the "pending"
[20:59:25] <Notsanguine> As an aside, TheMightyBuzzard, the "pending" state isn't unusual for my bank. It often takes 24 hours or so. Which seems odd, but I guess holding thousands of transactions for a day or so makes them more money.
[21:02:05] <TheMightyBuzzard> geez louise. mayhaps you should get a card from a bank that understands credit cards are supposed to be instant. i would not put up with that nonsense.
[21:08:34] <TheMightyBuzzard> Notsanguine, your sub went through just fine but it was a gift sub to nc. you want i should credit you the days with my awesome adminy powers?
[21:12:31] <Notsanguine> TheMightyBuzzard: It's not a credit card, but a debit card. Did I mention that my bank are assholes? It went to nc? That's weird. I'm sure I selected the 'buy for NotSanguine' radio button. No. It's not necessary to grant me sub days. I can do that myself and, since you've confirmed that SN has received the money (which is the important thing), I will.
[21:13:24] <TheMightyBuzzard> not weird, that's the third time it's come up this month because we don't have a radio button selected by default and if one isn't selected it gift subs to nc's non-admin account.
[21:14:09] <TheMightyBuzzard> you can grant yourself sub days? thought that was a seclev 10k power.
[21:14:20] <Notsanguine> Interesting. I swear I selected it. But it was late at night, so I probably screwed the pooch.
[21:15:05] <Notsanguine> I have that power TMB. And if you strike me down now, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. :)
[21:15:24] * TheMightyBuzzard chuckles
[21:15:41] <Notsanguine> I was under the impression that such privs were standard for eds.
[21:15:42] <TheMightyBuzzard> doesn't bother me, i just assumed it was an admin power.
