[00:05:31] <GreatOutdoors> Nope, no kids that I know of yet. Still no wife. Just a new salaried job that takes more than it's fair share of my time and college classes now. Been a decade since I was in school, but the boss gave me a promotion and said I get another as soon as my BS degree is done.

[00:07:20] <GreatOutdoors> Me either. My job really does take a lot of my time, and these college classes are killing me. I am taking 7 hours of classes in a half semester.. basically 14 hours and a 50+ hour a week job.
[00:07:56] <cmn32480> i hope the reward will be worth the sacrifice and hard work
[00:09:10] <GreatOutdoors> The VP guaranteed me a promotion to the senior position as soon as my degree is done, then said I would be the likely candidate for my Boss's job when he retires (less than 5 years from now).

[00:12:29] <GreatOutdoors> Scouts is fun. I don't really agree with their new policy on girls though..

[00:13:24] <cmn32480> I think that the way thigns are set up it will be good for most of the packs and troops

[00:13:54] <GreatOutdoors> Yeah... in girl scouts. :) But i'm a bit conservative, so <disclaimer> my views may not represent the views of everyone in this room

[00:15:31] <GreatOutdoors> I think the whole blending of people stuff that started with the "he/she's" has been taken too far Make a new group for both boys and girls, don't for a boy's group that has been around for ages to change.
[00:15:51] <cmn32480> scouts are coed in all but like 4 countries
[00:16:21] <cmn32480> the US... and 3 others
[00:16:41] <GreatOutdoors> I think they push stuff like this because they know making a group for both will be harder to do, and they want the easy route.
[00:17:26] <GreatOutdoors> Anyway, i was never a scout myself, I was in Royal Rangers, which is similar.

[00:20:12] <GreatOutdoors> I'll pop in sometime. May edit a story or two here and there. I still have my privs on the server, so I guess someone knew I would return someday..

[00:21:47] <cmn32480> truth is, as a volunteer organization, we nevere know when folks will come and go... and then come back
[00:22:27] <cmn32480> so we don't generally revoke privs unless somebody goes MIA for a really extended period of time
[00:22:41] <GreatOutdoors> I never really left though, just became a reader only for a while. When I left, Charon was pretty much posting everything 3 days ahead, so I didn't feel like there was too much of a dire need for me to be very active at the time.
