[00:00:25] <mrpg> I'll do canada spy agency releases tools
[00:00:25] <takyon> hi
[00:00:30] <mrpg> hi
[00:00:49] <nick> im very glad not to be needing those chats anymore, perhaps the best frame of mind i've ever been in
[00:00:50] <Bytram> Words cannot express how happy I am to see you make this big step and make such deep changes in your life... you have most defeinitely grown a LOT in thepast few years!
[00:00:51] <nick> hey takyon
[00:01:09] <Bytram> I'm just happy that I was able to be there.
[00:01:29] <nick> i really appreciate it, Bytram
[00:01:43] <nick> it definitely helped me on my way
[00:01:57] <TheMightyBuzzard> takyon, you're a bastard for tricking me with a great tits story that was about birds
[00:02:11] <takyon> did you not read the entire headline?
[00:02:23] <Bytram> and, it was only me sharing my *own* experiences in life... it is my fervent hope that someday you'll be able to draw on your experiences and use those to help someone else -- pay it forward, so to speak
[00:02:30] <TheMightyBuzzard> course not. i'm easily distracted by boobs.
[00:02:48] <takyon> classic
[00:03:17] -!- boobies [boobies!~a6b651cb@343-45-396-375.mobile.uscc.net] has joined #editorial
[00:03:31] <boobies> TheMightyBuzzard: Pssst... I am over here!
[00:03:34] <TheMightyBuzzard> it is boobies month though. pink ribbon and all that.
[00:03:42] <TheMightyBuzzard> boobies++
[00:03:42] <Bender> karma - boobies: 1
[00:03:59] * boobies will keep him distracted while you guys talk among yourself
[00:04:06] <nick> on an unrelated subject, from my US roadtrip, i want to say fuck chicago, fuck atlanta and fuck florida in general, for driving around those places is a pain in the fucking ass
[00:04:27] <TheMightyBuzzard> nick, you ain't wrong. chicago's the best of the bunch too.
[00:04:47] <Bytram> nick: sorry you had to go through that -- many of us could prolly have saved you a bunch of grief if we'd known ahead of time.
[00:04:59] <boobies> TheMightyBuzzard: hey there big boy
[00:05:06] * TheMightyBuzzard ogles
[00:05:07] <nick> i was only driving through them, but it was enough
[00:05:18] <nick> went from nothern michigan to orlando in 3 days
[00:05:21] <Bytram> yep, that can be more than sufficient
[00:05:24] <nick> like 2000 miles
[00:05:35] <boobies> TheMightyBuzzard: Ibet you can't even tell the color of my eyes
[00:05:41] <TheMightyBuzzard> you have eyes?
[00:05:51] <mrpg> i can, brown or pink
[00:05:54] <takyon> just submitted the lamest bug report in rehash history
[00:05:56] <boobies> your not looking in the right place
[00:06:26] <boobies> thif that's the way you look at things, Im outa here
[00:06:36] -!- boobies has quit [Client Quit]
[00:06:57] <TheMightyBuzzard> Deucalion, get in here with your old nick. i been abandoned.
[00:07:25] * Bytram thinks you might have scared 'em away
[00:07:56] * nick is also convinced the state of florida is in cahoots with the car hire companies in regard to their toll system
[00:08:12] <takyon> merged realdonaldtrump breast awareness subs
[00:08:15] <TheMightyBuzzard> Bytram, you're probably right. should have set a booby trap.
[00:08:19] <Bytram> you might want to avoid the New Jersey turnpike, then
[00:08:26] <Bytram> *groan*
[00:09:11] <nick> just so happens the exit you have to take, to get off the highway and to miami airport is one of the few ones you cant pay cash
[00:09:13] <TheMightyBuzzard> nick, atlanta's the worst but i'd also advise avoiding houston, austin, and dallas.
[00:09:26] <takyon> RIP houston
[00:09:49] <Bytram> boston is much better for walking than driving -- it's MBTA aka 'The T' is pretty good, though
[00:09:51] <nick> so you either have to buy a 'sun pass' or you get your rental company to charge you an admin fee ontop of the toll cost when they're billed for it
[00:10:17] <nick> so either way florida or the rental company gets $20 or so from you, because you're a tourist
[00:11:14] <nick> atlanta wasn't as bad as chicago, but it was still pretty rough, even more so because i was obeying the speed limits unlike everyone else it seemed
[00:11:29] <TheMightyBuzzard> yeah. that was your first mistake.
[00:11:42] <TheMightyBuzzard> you can get run over like that
[00:12:00] <nick> i had no desire to get pulled over
[00:12:09] <Bytram> that could be dangerous on pretty much every interstate highway I've driven in the states
[00:12:40] <nick> on the cross country segments it was no problem
[00:12:57] <nick> but the bits in the city, cutting through were quite different
[00:13:02] <TheMightyBuzzard> nod nod. we treat speed limits as starting points. if you're within 5mph you won't EVER get pulled over. if you're within 10 it's still pretty rare.
[00:13:10] <nick> i was fine with it, being used to driving in london
[00:13:31] <Bytram> trick is to wait for someone to pass you at the speed you'd like to drive, and let them act as 'the rabbit'... keep them in your sights, but about a mile ahead. let them flush out any police, and keep an eye on their brake lights, too.
[00:13:38] <nick> but like on the first day, i drove 700 miles and having 2+hrs of being stuck in chicago just made it all the more annoying
[00:14:14] <Bytram> that's a LOT of driving
[00:14:18] <TheMightyBuzzard> ahh, yeah. chi town does slow things down but at least the drivers there are mostly skilled. atlanta they're just shitheads.
[00:14:23] <nick> as a foreigner driving a car with out of state plates, i did not want to give them any reason to pull me over
[00:15:40] <Bytram> out-of-state plates do tend to attract attentionin many locales
[00:15:50] <nick> would have been ok just driving around, but those cities were just inconveniences on the bigger journey
[00:15:53] <TheMightyBuzzard> dangit, i can't assign takyon's bug to Bytram.
[00:16:10] <TheMightyBuzzard> #smake Bytram
[00:16:10] * MrPlow smakes Bytram upside the head with a trojan horse penis
[00:16:12] <Bytram> no need... he found it, and I think it is a good one, at that
[00:16:13] <nick> the car i picked up in michigan had maryland plates, and i dropped it off in miami
[00:16:16] <Bytram> takyon++
[00:16:16] <Bender> karma - takyon: 62
[00:16:20] <nick> wonder if it will ever see maryland again lol
[00:16:28] <TheMightyBuzzard> Bytram, i meant to fix it
[00:16:35] <Bytram> oh.
[00:16:42] <Bytram> I still don't have a VM, remember?
[00:17:02] <mrpg> canada's python malware analysis tool story ready.
[00:17:02] <TheMightyBuzzard> it's a textual change only. you can do it directly from github.
[00:17:22] <mrpg> saturday is ready.
[00:17:50] <Bytram> TheMightyBuzzard: If you say so, I'm running out of steam after a rather draining day at work. was about to hit the whay when nick popped in
[00:17:57] <Bytram> mrpg: thanks
[00:18:10] * TheMightyBuzzard throws a round bale at Bytram
[00:18:11] <mrpg> welcome

[00:20:33] <mrpg> thansk
[00:21:41] <nick> Bytram, before you escape... how is jr doing?
[00:22:01] <Bytram> btw, while we have so many editory-type folks here... the submissions queue has many old stories that could be purged... say, anything that is 10days(?) a week(?) old could probably be removed witha note to the user along the lines of "Sorry, your submission has not been selected by any editor for posting to the site over the past X days and has therefore been removed. Please keep trying!"
[00:22:08] <Bytram> nick pm
[00:22:37] <nick> k

[00:25:39] <Bytram> include the msg I just put here in an admin-to-user msg 9assuming it's not an AC or MrPlow, etc) and nuke away
[00:25:40] <TheMightyBuzzard> takyon, yer bug's fixed.
[00:25:46] <takyon> cool
[00:26:43] * TheMightyBuzzard sends MrPlow messages all the time
[00:30:47] <mrpg> ok i'll delete "storing light in a tiny box"
[00:32:06] <mrpg> deleted. This is FUN!!!!
[00:32:27] <Bytram> mrpg: you sent an admin-to-user msg ?
[00:32:51] <mrpg> i wrote what you said on the delete box....
[00:33:09] <Bytram> TheMightyBuzzard: ^^^ does that get sent to the submitter>?
[00:33:23] <TheMightyBuzzard> rejection reason? yeah.
[00:33:47] <mrpg> so it's ok. I'll keep destroying dreams.
[00:34:14] <TheMightyBuzzard> crush them like so many bugs beneath your feet
[00:34:19] * TheMightyBuzzard steps out
[00:34:43] * Bytram wasn't sure if it just got saved in tehsubission as a delete reason, or if it was sent to the user, or both.
[00:34:55] <Bytram> and I'm heading to slumber land
[00:35:50] <Bytram> nick: so very glad I didn't bail out earlier like I'd intended to do... so glad to hear of the changes in your life! Give my best to your new bride!
