[18:50:28] <janrinok> today is my no-cooking day. So it was (and usually is) pizza day. We both like it and there is a mobile pizza van that parks in the village. Delicious with no effort.

[18:51:46] <n1> hard to track down a decent pizza around here, but i bet there they wouldn't survive if they wernt good
[18:52:15] <janrinok> I thought you would have plenty of choice for take-away food?

[18:52:28] <n1> but none of it is very good
[18:52:54] <janrinok> ah, well we have little choice but what is on offer is good quality and reasonably priced
[18:52:59] <n1> had chinese takeaway the other day, as a treat from my dad before he went on the road
[18:53:08] <n1> and its something ive noticed, even the most highly rated places around here
[18:53:11] <janrinok> how is he by the way?
[18:53:14] <n1> be it pizza, curry, chinese etc
[18:53:28] <n1> it's at best 'good', but never ever anything like 'wow, will have to have this again'
[18:53:52] <n1> he is doing well thanks, i managed to keep him out of trouble whilst he was in the area for the last couple weeks
[18:54:18] <janrinok> lol. that's a shame about the food though - good food doesn't take much more effort than bad food
[18:54:37] <n1> yeah, it's very strange
[18:54:52] <n1> it seems like a 7/10 is the best they ever hope to get
[18:54:59] <n1> and that will be one dish out of the order
[18:55:06] <n1> if you know what i mean
[18:55:21] <n1> they dont ever seem to try and give you a reason to go back again

[18:56:14] <n1> well my lunch was quite interesting, i picked up some 'sweet and spicy pork jorim' to have with my regular noodles
[18:56:31] <janrinok> I'll have to google 'jorim'
[18:56:43] <n1> "Jorim is a generic Korean cuisine term referring to dishes made of vegetables, meats, seafood, or tofu in a mixed sauce by simmering for a long time."

[18:57:31] <janrinok> ah, that is a new culinary word for me. I'll have to dig out some recipes
[18:57:40] <n1> but it was really nice, better than i was expecting, pre-prepared but by hand, for korean consumption locally
[18:58:04] <janrinok> something to look out for again then
[18:58:19] <n1> yeah, i'd seen it a few times but never actually went for it
[18:58:25] <n1> however i will next time i see it
[18:58:46] <n1> however for dinner, which im about to start preparing
[18:58:53] <janrinok> I'll try to have some recipes up my sleeve for if/when you ever make it out here
[18:58:57] <n1> ghost chilli chicken wings and chips
[18:59:18] <janrinok> I've just eaten - and you are making me salivate again!
[18:59:26] <n1> havn't decided if i should go for baked beans or veggies as the third component
[19:01:23] <n1> really should start working on it if i hope to eat today...
[19:01:28] <janrinok> the baked beans (although nice) don't sound quite right for the dish, but they are more convenient than some other veggies
