[22:37:29] <lentilsoup> I'm just going to run this up the flagpole: set up a process that delays the newest story from being published if the previous one has less than P comments unless it has been more than Q hours since it went live.
[22:40:42] <lentilsoup> The current predefined timing has its downsides. Just now, the artificial sweetner story went live only 42 minutes after its predecessor, which only has 2 comments at the time.
[22:43:01] <lentilsoup> So, maybe you can analyze all previous stories and see if their is a cutoff point after which very little comments get added, if at all. A complication is, of course, that subject matters and tones of voice have a major effect on comment counts.
