[17:54:28] <janrinok> hi guys
[17:54:32] -!- Woods has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
[17:54:43] <paulej72> scared him away
[17:55:13] <janrinok> yep - it seems like that....
[17:55:22] <janrinok> how are you paulej72 ?
[17:55:32] <paulej72> bored
[17:55:54] <janrinok> nothing to do, or nothing exciting and interesting to do?
[17:56:20] <paulej72> lattter
[17:57:24] <janrinok> OK - makes sense. A quick question. We often use blockquote to indicate a quoted portion of the article - how easy is it to change the background colour of a blockquote to make it stand out more?
[17:59:59] <paulej72> janrinok: very easy, but we will be using opacity of .83 on atrticle blockquotes once we get the new code on pord. opacity for comment blockquotes is .75. see http://dev.soylentnews.org mrcoolbp and TheMightyBuzzard worked this up.
[18:00:00] <monopoly> ^ 04SN (dev) article 03 Testing blockquotes in an article 04(1 comments):
[18:00:36] <janrinok> thx - that answered the question and offered the solution! Bingo!
[18:00:52] <paulej72> Not sure setting the background a differnt color is the best as it highlights differeces in the margins too much,
[18:01:05] <janrinok> well, we can always try it
[18:01:33] <paulej72> they thought about using a left border, but that made it look too mcuh like a nested comment
[18:02:42] <janrinok> I didn't realise it was already being looked at - is this a user-selectable option, or take it or leave it?
[18:04:03] <paulej72> take it or leave it. unless someone wirtes their own css and plops it into their browser user.css file
[18:05:01] <janrinok> OK thx again.
[18:05:18] <paulej72> np
[18:05:55] <janrinok> That example link looks OK to me.
