[21:27:25] <Bytram> TheMightyBuzzard: just got a report of a user having a problem using stripe to renew their subscription... they *were* able to renew using paypal, however: spid==735
[22:36:38] <Bytram> the bad transaction in paypal_log has logid == 995 (that's where transaction_type == "subscr_failed")
[22:37:39] <Bytram> urg... I was looking in the wrong table(?)
[22:40:41] <Bytram> DOH!
[22:41:34] <Bytram> TheMightyBuzzard: you around?
[22:45:43] <Bytram> Am attempting a subscription using stripe on dev; used the first-listed visa test card number, expiration: 12/17 and 1234 for the check... seemed to go through okay. ?!?
[22:45:55] <Bytram> maybe an ipnd issue?
[22:47:00] <Bytram> btw, I see the subscription on dev's recent_subs page with spid==118
[22:59:50] <TheMightyBuzzard> am now
[23:00:07] <Bytram> hi!
[23:00:12] <TheMightyBuzzard> not an ipnd issue
[23:00:15] <Bytram> nod nod
[23:00:36] <TheMightyBuzzard> stripe doesn't like ediii's card.
[23:01:18] <Bytram> ahh, you have a dashboard to look at, right?
[23:01:28] * Bytram has been trying to sleuth things out from the DB
[23:01:33] <TheMightyBuzzard> no, this happened last time he tried to sub using stripe
[23:01:48] <Bytram> k
[23:02:19] <Bytram> would there be an issue if I tried a stripe test account on prod?
[23:02:40] <TheMightyBuzzard> yes. it'd fail
[23:02:46] <Bytram> nod nod
[23:03:07] <TheMightyBuzzard> his failed last time because they rejected the charge. dunno what the deal is this time.
[23:03:11] <Bytram> I seemed to recall it was one of those things that the test accts would only work when we are in test mode.
[23:03:17] <Bytram> beats me.
[23:03:48] <Bytram> so, from your perspective, everything is okay?
[23:03:51] <TheMightyBuzzard> not seeing one even attempted this time.
[23:04:09] <Bytram> hmmm, wait a sec...
[23:04:17] <TheMightyBuzzard> "Sorry, there was a problem loading Checkout. If this persists, please try a different browser. This message will automatically close in 5 seconds."
[23:04:26] <TheMightyBuzzard> sounds like THEY were having issues
[23:04:43] <Bytram> that makes sense
[23:05:36] <Bytram> this is strange...
[23:05:53] <TheMightyBuzzard> you can admin->user message him if you like but that message tells me the problem is on their end not on ours.
[23:06:11] <TheMightyBuzzard> that or he has some security settings too narrow.
[23:06:28] <Bytram> I'm seeing an error for *paypal* in paypal_log where logid == 995 (transaction_type == subscr_failed )
[23:07:29] <TheMightyBuzzard> failed subs concern me not unless someone comes to complain. they could have been trying to use a stolen or over charged card
[23:07:59] <Bytram> well, he did 'complain' by mentioning it in #Soylent
[23:08:29] <Bytram> but, he succeeded on his next attempt...
[23:08:49] <Bytram> so we'll assume we are good unless we hear another complaint.
[23:09:15] <TheMightyBuzzard> he didn't complain paypal had a problem
[23:10:20] <Bytram> well, he may not have understood what it meant, but he did mention it to us, so that sounds to me like a complaint, but he found a workaround (for whatever his problem was -- whether it was paypal itself or user error), so I'm thinking that we are okay.
[23:10:30] <Bytram> that is, unless someone else mentions it.
[23:10:54] <Bytram> very much appreciate your looking into it!
[23:11:17] * Bytram closes his putty connection
