[12:17:12] <paulej72> TheMightyBuzzard: wat is your opinopnon the ironic tag pull request
[12:17:55] <TheMightyBuzzard> technical: it'll need to be manually merged cause of changes i made this weekend.
[12:18:17] <TheMightyBuzzard> aesthetic: meh
[12:18:49] <TheMightyBuzzard> i got no great objection to it but i dunno if the users would care for it as a whole either.
[12:20:04] <TheMightyBuzzard> and if we do that we really, really need to add sarc tags too
[12:20:54] <TheMightyBuzzard> and on a random thought, i don't think the guy knows what irony means
[12:21:36] <paulej72> that was my opinion as well srcastic is used way more than ironic,
[12:21:54] <paulej72> bit ironic
[12:22:09] <TheMightyBuzzard> damn yous, now i got that song in my head
[12:22:49] <paulej72> I am going to look at the code now to see what I want to do
[12:24:12] <TheMightyBuzzard> don't even think of merging as_is. it wouldn't work for starters. you could nest the bloody things and make an anchor mess like nobody's business.
[12:27:12] <paulej72> yeah it is not fully worked out plus I would not want to have inline styles and hidden links. I think I would just have the tags be allowed but translated to display only tags by encoding the < and >.
[12:27:17] <TheMightyBuzzard> side note, it annoys me that we had a method of fixing the wavey sup/sub text and it just wasn't being used.
[12:29:32] <TheMightyBuzzard> would be a better idea, yeah. or put tags around it with a title if that would show "sarcasm" on mouseover
[12:30:02] <TheMightyBuzzard> not a link, something like an acronym tag maybe
[12:34:12] <paulej72> Is there any case where we would want su depth more than 1.
[12:34:54] <paulej72> I can think of a few math things, but this should not be necessary for our site.
[12:35:02] <TheMightyBuzzard> possibly for editors or journals
[12:35:34] <TheMightyBuzzard> realistically, not going to happen often though.
[12:36:52] <TheMightyBuzzard> what we could really use is a list of tags that can only go single depth saved as a var.
[12:38:11] <paulej72> Well all of your stuff has been merged
[12:38:40] <TheMightyBuzzard> nod nod, going to chalk that up as a will work for now and do the single depth list another time
[12:38:53] <paulej72> sounds good to me
[12:39:36] <TheMightyBuzzard> βΈ® used to be used for both irony and sarcasm by the way
[12:41:36] <paulej72> old school
[12:42:51] <paulej72> i never knew that, so a lot of newer users would not as well
[12:42:53] <TheMightyBuzzard> there's also sarcmark but that's not an open glyph
[12:45:46] <TheMightyBuzzard> and undecorated links wouldn't necessarily be hovered anyway so we need something visible
[12:46:48] <TheMightyBuzzard> so far i like just escaping the lt and gt for the tags idea best but i think we can do better.
[12:59:56] <TheMightyBuzzard> whatcha think of this for sarcasm? http://tmbvm.ddns.net
[13:22:22] <paulej72> http://www.w3schools.com
[13:25:52] <TheMightyBuzzard> not supported in html5. bummer.
[13:28:57] <paulej72> http://accessify.com
[13:40:22] <TheMightyBuzzard> yeah, looks like we could use abbr and it wouldn't hurt to allow them as tags anyway.
[13:44:07] <TheMightyBuzzard> looks the same. http://tmbvm.ddns.net
